just got the lenovo legion 5i with i7-11800h 32gb ram with 3050ti – and its buttery smooth experience having upgraded from my i7-4700 8gb laptop – based on the usage specs while having lightroom open it is taking 16gb – so if you’re able to get a laptop with 32gb setup or upgrade to 32gb – definitely go for it!

What are people’s suggestions on a laptop $4K and under for photo editing using Capture One? I was thinking about the Asus Proart Studiobook 16 Oled even though I don’t think the dial works with Capture One.

Im confused to choose between Zephyrus g15 or legion 5 pro ( rtx 3060 ver. ) Which is the best choice for a animation student? We haven’t started 3d yet but I do a character art using blender. Because I use blender i need those numpad which g15 doesn’t have but I like the spec overall on both. Which would you recommend?
    Thank you πŸ™

hi, i’m after a laptop for photo / video editing and i stuck between:

    a) ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 15 FHD 300Hz i9 12900H RTX 3070 Ti 16GB DDR5 1TB
    b) Dell XPS 15 9520 FHD+ i7 12700H RTX 3050Ti 16GB DDR5 512GB
    c) Acer Predator Triton 500 SE i7 12700H RTX 3070 Ti 16GB DDR5 1TB QHD+ 240Hz

Asus seems to be really interesting but no card reader and FHD only -_- Acer great that there’s card reader but i’ve got mixed feelings about design and fingerprint location.
Dell – well, my previous laptop was Dell Inspiron and this thing lasted 10+ years without crashing which really impresses me. Also like you’ve mentioned a numerous times – build quality seems to be really outstanding. Just bit of a shame that unit i’ve got in mind comes with only 512gbs and 3050ti comparing to competition ?

What’s your take πŸ˜‰ kind regards

hello. I would like to ask you a very specific and very important question about galaxy book pro and laptops with an OLED screen in general. I hope you will find a time and answer my question because it is very sad, I asked this same question to almost every popular tech YouTubers but no one willing to answer. my question is about the Oled screen. we all know that even today Oled screen’s biggest problem is still pixel burning, it is just the nature of this technology, I understand that nowadays OLEDs much much better than they used to be many years ago but as I said still this problem exists, so my question how reliable to invest money and buy an OLED screen laptop, because unlike OLED tv’s, on an OLED laptop almost every single person has a lot of static icons and plus textured not moving wallpaper, and we all know that 99% OLED screen will have a burned pixel when subject not moving. so how reliable to buy an OLED screen laptop? Yes advertisements are based on an emotional factor, when they present a new product they repeat every single second how beautiful, thin, and light it is, how powerful it is, how mobile it is, how beautiful it is to tape on a keyboard, yes yes yes we understand all that but no single word or mention about critically important subjects. what can you tell me about this? for professional usage photo editing or light video editing when this laptop will become your main tool is it a smart decision to buy a Samsung galaxy book pro-first-generation or this new one or any laptop with an OLED screen or it will be much better to buy traditional LCD screen laptop like DELL XPS line or HP what will be your suggestion.

Hi Ben, love your inclusion for 3d Modelling and productivity apps, i was wondering if you’d do a 3d modelling Laptop Recommendation again with the upcoming 12th gen and 6000 Intel and Amd CPUs respectively and if Ti version of the GPUs matter along with a little light on AMD GPUs like in the new G14

Can I get away with an M1 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM? Looking for a laptop to work on in the living room, and would mostly be doing things like making icons, wallpapers, etc. Love what I see in my wife’s MacBook Air but I don’t know if it needs an extra GPU core or what. Been so long since I’ve used a Mac! I had a MacBook Pro in 2006ish and it was one of the best computers I’ve ever used.

I have a beat of a machine at the moment (lenovo legion 5 with an rtx 3070) but I never game anymore and I’m travelling a lot. This thing is too bulky, has 0 battery life. I want something more portable with better battery and only something with basic graphics to do the rare odd lightroom editing in.
