5 Signs You DO NOT Have Autism

5 Signs You DO NOT Have Autism

We get a lot of requests from people who want to know if their loved one has autism. Sometimes it helps to hear reasons they do not have autism. Even though we’ve covered similar ground in the past, when things are heard in the opposite way, the brain can form new connections and thoughts can click into place more easily. [EDIT]: We have a follow up video based on a lot of questions we received to this one. We cover things like Autism being a spectrum, masking, mis-diagnosis and under-diagnosing, etc. You can click the video link just below this sentence, thanks!

I have autism and I am on a spiritual journey. The reason why autistic children and people have a hard time with eye contact is bc they feel the bad energy in people and see them for who they are and sense the negative vibes in them and see their negative souls. While the autistic child/adult is full of light and full of joy and positive energy the complete opposite of average people.

  5. Assinator02 HJ on August 17, 2022 at 2:12 am

so you need to have good social skills to not be autsitic? cant someone just have average social skills or be bad at it without having Autism ? its like saying,to not be stupid you need have a iq of higher than 125,only because you have a IQ of 100 doesnt neccesary mean your stupid . We need to understand people are different and that doesnt neccesary mean that’s bad or that someone is mental ill because of it.I think people need to rather look at significant Autistic traits rather than just saying they have low social skills.

One time I was at a ice cream shop and my whole family was there and my family is really loud it stressed me out so I pretty much paced back and forth the whole time is that a sign?

  11. Rok Sivante on August 17, 2022 at 2:16 am

As if there’s not a spectrum and tons of autists that do NOT share these specific traits as exemplified in these extremes.

Creator of this channel probably hasn’t given much thought to what these kids are going to feel like as growing up and looking back at what a public spectacle they were made out to be.

The implications of this didn’t hit home until watching the “Understanding Autistic Meltdowns – Sharing Experience & Research” Ponderful channel – chapter 5 on ‘advocacy,’ starting around 31 minutes in.

Seriously… you guys oughta watch and reflect on this.

Any tips on how to potty train him?
We started 1 month ago and still he won’t tell us when he has to do number 1 or 2.
    Thank you very much!

  14. suzuki chan on August 17, 2022 at 2:19 am

this is still for low functioning autism. It because of the assumption that all autism cases are like that a lot of people don’t get diagnosed

  19. nicely done on August 17, 2022 at 2:26 am

My dad had Aspergers and didn’t have good eye contact. I was raised with this. Although I don’t have Aspergers, I do have to remind myself to make eye contact, (yes I know that is an Aspergers trait) I remind myself because it was not taught trait. He didn’t consider it important. My dad would go into different tangents, I was always left to try and explain to people where he was coming from. Mostly he thought 1/2 a convo in his mind before he would start a visit with people.

  20. amberrrr on August 17, 2022 at 2:26 am

(from someone who has autism) im very greatfull someone finally made a good informative vid! also the eye contact bit rlly made me think why i dont do it and i came to the conclusion that it feels so weird staring at someone as they speak it rlly makes u see them diferently

  21. Neil Bowman on August 17, 2022 at 2:27 am

Too stereotypical Everyone with autism have different stims smh

  22. Mike Oxlong on August 17, 2022 at 2:28 am

If you can’t tell that you have autism then it shouldn’t matter.
You should only be spending your time and attention on the people who actually suffer from this disorder.
I do t care if you’re antisocial, anxious or hate eye contact.
People like to claim they have autism to seek attention from others.
There are people who cannot walk or talk because of the disorder. Save your attention, energy and sympathy for them.

As a teen who has been diagnosed with asd, a lot of this is true. Especially the stimming, repeated behavior, rocking back and forth constantly, and not being able to socially interact or make eye contact. It affects my progress at school especially when we have to do presentations and do group projects.

  28. Ms Francesca on August 17, 2022 at 2:36 am

This is a great video. The spectrum is so broad. I agree with with you with the typical motor movements however it can change over time.

  29. No Name on August 17, 2022 at 2:36 am

I took the Autism quotient test and got a 49/50 so i got pretty concerned and now ive just done a lot of research and watching videos about it and im probably gonna get a real diagnoses the boy picking grass while speaking is how i act when interacting with teachers

Thank you for this. I’m 57 going on 58 and was never diagnosed with anything. But I never fit in, and still don’t — not even online. I’ve suspected recently that I may be autistic, and this video was really helpful for me.

  32. HawaiiMoons Plays iPad on August 17, 2022 at 2:41 am

After seeing this video, I was wondering if I had autism.. 4/5 of the things from this video are things that I do, but I’ve never been told to have autism. I have no idea if it’s true but I’m a girl. Any thoughts?

  33. JoeJoeTater on August 17, 2022 at 2:45 am

Those were more interviews than conversations. Also, I feel like they were a bit unfair. Like, I’ve never had a conversation where someone sat me down, pointed a camera in my face, asked me disjointed questions, and berated me about mannerisms. If you tried to do that to an adult, they’d tell you to get lost because it’s strange/hostile behavior. It seems like you designed that interaction to get a particular result.

  34. ☆ɢᴀᴄʜᴀᴇᴍɪ_ᴇᴅ☆ on August 17, 2022 at 2:46 am

The boy pulling grass is so relatable.

  35. winny m on August 17, 2022 at 2:48 am

This is annoying. Not everyone is a seven year old boy having a meltdown in the middle of a supermarket. Men don’t tend to accomodate to social rules because they’re not expected and not raised exactly as women are raised.

    Now for girls
These here are from the little descriptions on times on the vid, so sorry if i skipped one
    1. Girls with autism tend to have GREAT eye contact. Opposite of boys with autism
    2. Girls are expected to act more mature so they can be a bit more still, but it still applies to them the way it does for boys
    3. Girls too have bad social skills when they have autism
    4. Applies to them too

i have that eye contract problem i dunno it’s autism or not😅

  42. ModestEthan on August 17, 2022 at 2:55 am

Dang dude thanks! I thought due to me being socially akward and having tics I had autism, but after finding out it isnt a developed disorder, but a at birth one I knew I was good. I had just been online and havent gotten much social interaction at all for almost three years! Also, since I was a kid ive always been talkative and social.

I literally had a breakdown thinking I had discovered I had autism later in life 😂

  45. Dumbass on August 17, 2022 at 2:57 am

So being socially awkward having bad eye contact and fidgeting is a good chance of being autistic damn reads me so well guess I’m autistic lol

  46. becca coleman on August 17, 2022 at 2:58 am

Great video. I long suspected that my son is on the spectrum, but after being on a waiting list for over a year to have an evaluation, the lady said no he is not autistic. He has some ticks and idiosyncrasies that make him stand out from others more than just being "weird", and lacks social skills. Conversations are nearly non existent with him because he lives only in his world.

  47. Joey (Samantha) on August 17, 2022 at 3:01 am

honestly, i’ve been questioning whether or not my 8 year old brother has autism, but some of these he doesn’t have and some he does.

he has a very difficult time being in public, most of the time getting quiet unless he can see a baby or a younger kid his age and then he feels better. he also has a hard time being in loud surroundings especially when my family gets loud. he’s even asked us to be quiet because it hurts his ears. there’s been times where he never feels like he’s the same as everyone and even has teachers calling him stupid (which he’s not, but my family doesn’t do much to fix this)

he also has a hard time staying still and very rarely stops moving. he also whispers words sometimes that he is thinking about or that he wants. he’s super into motorcycles and the color green. it’s like the one thing that he’s really into. he’s not the best at keeping eye contact but he manages at times.

He does have good communication skills, and isn’t bad at social situations, he just ends up getting shy and doesn’t talk much unless I manage to help him understand that he’s safe and okay.

honestly i just wanna know your opinion since my own family chooses to deny the idea of him evening being neurodiverse.
