Technically, we have a landline, but I don’t think the things said don’t apply to us. There is a difference in old versus new versions of landlines.

Also you can still FAX (Without going through a 3rd party) with a landlines.

Unfortunately, most landlines are tied to your cable/internet which means when the electric is out so is your landline.

We still maintain our landline for the FAX and for long conversations the cordless phone landline is clearer.

Landline phone systems are obsolete! Corporate and government offices should start providing hotlines for mobile and internet phones and should respond to SMS messaging inquiries. Landline phones are for dinosaurs.

Or you can just get a Bluetooth gateway and say fuck it.

I also think landlines are more reliable in an emergency and for the disabled. I am blind and can bearly dial a cell phone. It takes me about 20 seconds to completely dial a number on a cell phone and the buttons are very small on the ones that flip open. not to mention the inability to here people clearly sometimes. This makes a landline or VOIP desk phone my only option unless I use a bluetooth ear-piece with the cell phone.

I decided to keep my landline although it costs $52 a month. Once you ditch the landline it’s gone forever.

No one mentioned that being constantly connected via smartphone may increase the risk of brain tumors. Putting them down one in a while will give some downtime to cool off from them other than sleep and bath.

Besides, using a dial can improve your hand eye ordination.

What exactly are the disadvantages to having a landline phone especially if you also have a prepaid cell phone?

There’s actually still advantages to having landline phones. You don’t have to constantly charge them. The reception is good. In case of 911 emergencies it’s easier for your home to be located and landline phones have fewer hacking issues.

Going cell phone only seems to make more sense for people who need to use their phone often when away from home.

  26. CrowdPleeza on August 11, 2022 at 2:08 am

Having a digital landline phone can be a good deal for many if you combine it with a bundle service. Because you won’t have to cover some of the fees that come with contract cell phone plans. Taxes that are specific to cell phone use are increasing cell phone bills.
