Also worst part is customer service. I’m still waiting on responses from a few company’s and one responded this year after a year. Ugh I have written so many formal emails for customer service but I get nothing. I’m not even harassing I send one email, then next week I send another. No response and I Uninstall. Ugh.

  2. Szabolcs Mate on October 9, 2021 at 8:12 am

When you buy a game. That is always online even in single player. And will only work when updated to the latest version. BUT it changes through updates and eventually it turns from a game you loved into A GAME YOU HATE! And you paid for the one you loved BUT YOU NO LONGER HAVE IT! (okay, it’s a culmination of things you mentioned, but it SUCKS!)

Capitalism, am I right? Democratize the workplace and see if this doesn’t slow down. Almost anything is better than late stage capitalism.

  4. bf1 enjoyer on October 9, 2021 at 8:14 am

I love how they used overwatch as a prime example crappy "loot"boxes

  5. Matthew Dovidas on October 9, 2021 at 8:15 am

I would like to get an email with the "deargodhelp" domain name please 😂

  6. Jeremy on October 9, 2021 at 8:16 am

The recent thing that I find utterly inexplicable is how much people care about customizing outfits in single player games.

  7. Outside Xtra on October 9, 2021 at 8:17 am

Please just let us play the games. Please. We just want to play the games. Why is it so difficult? Whhhhhyyyyy?

  8. Mon Nat on October 9, 2021 at 8:17 am

Remember when we would win characters and attires by playing well instead of having to pay for them!

  9. TK B on October 9, 2021 at 8:17 am

A year later and I STILL can’t craft in bulk in Animal Crossing.

  10. CamTheKitty on October 9, 2021 at 8:19 am

Don’t think animal crossing is for you if you are complaining about that

  11. James McGowan on October 9, 2021 at 8:19 am

God is the internet a mistake.

  12. Artist Egg Kun on October 9, 2021 at 8:21 am

The part that hurts the most is thst this list is full of things the publishers choose to do instead of things they have to do and if you believe otherwise then you’re just lying to yourself. Sorry.

  13. Rocco T Cacharelis on October 9, 2021 at 8:22 am

Every games gotta have a battle pass type thing now

  14. Lexi on October 9, 2021 at 8:23 am

Woooooo! I play old games, indie games, and flash games. Don’t gotta deal with any of this

  15. Artemiy Solopov on October 9, 2021 at 8:23 am

Alternative title: Outside Xtra compressing several years of Jim Sterling content into an easy-to-swallow 15 minute video.
Some context and vitriol was sadly lost.

  16. Uneven Noble on October 9, 2021 at 8:24 am

Ellen: people spend a their money on loot crates, and get nothing but common sprays and ugly cosmetics

Me: somehow got 3 royal tier skins in overwatch via crates without spending a cent

  17. Benn87 on October 9, 2021 at 8:24 am

My biggest problem with modern games is that developers are increasingly trying to please everyone. This is accompanied by the fact that many games become extremely watered down.

  18. greaterfiend on October 9, 2021 at 8:25 am

And the worst part is you still need the fucking disc to play the game it installed off the internet with the disc in the slot.

I dont play single player games that force me to be online.

  19. ҒᏞᎪᎷᎬ ՏͲႮᎠᏆΘ on October 9, 2021 at 8:26 am

After watching these i feel like I’m off to playing the shitty mobile games rather than the paid dlc games, atleast the only thing i gotta deal with is ads :p (I’m not saying you should play them, I’m just sharing how i like to avoid games like that :D)

    Timmy noooooo

  21. robbie aulia on October 9, 2021 at 8:27 am

If only these corporation knew that people only pirates because following the law is unreasonably painful because of greedy corporation.

  22. Humble Hive on October 9, 2021 at 8:29 am

The always online against piracy is funny since the pirates don’t get the harassing comments since they never signed in.

  23. Sage Emerson on October 9, 2021 at 8:30 am

"Imagine paying ~$100 for the collectors edition of red dead redemption 2 and not getting the- OH MY GOD"

  24. Jacob A. Gallant on October 9, 2021 at 8:31 am

    1. Don’t really mind, usually means that things are better and, in the era of review copies, can help show if a game is salvageable or not
2.Genuinely hate, I don’t want 100 Accounts for all my games, just let me play please!
    3. I just… have only 2, Normal and Deluxe with extra DLC coming later. also stop with booster pack games.
    4. ….Can, somebody explain this to me? I never understood it, why is this necessary?
    5. Daily tasks and limited items, Piss off, Leave it to gacha games like Arknights/Genshin.
    6. WHY. Why do I need to be online to play my solo game, i don’t care about the multiplayer at the moment, LET ME CAMPAIGN. Thank Christ Splatoon doesn’t have that issue or It would be binned.
    7. Loot boxes…just….again…Gacha only, I’m not paying money for SKINS, and If i can work for a character, I’LL BLOODY WORK FOR THEM. (Why do you guys do this BTW? Clicks? Sunk cost? Skins are pointless, just play.)

  25. Wary Observer on October 9, 2021 at 8:32 am

The worst thing for me with loot boxes or microtransactions is, how the excuse still is often, "It’s just cosmetics, it not affects the game.", yes, it fucking does affect the game, EVERY game you can customize it will have effect, people like to play with looks. On top, most of those microtransactions are the selling the solution to a problem they made themselves, see "time savers" and XP boosts in general. I miss the day when you simply unlocked such trough simple gameplay and actually playing.

  26. Junko Enoshima on October 9, 2021 at 8:33 am

None of those are actually problems 🙂

  27. Eric Currier on October 9, 2021 at 8:34 am

That was a HILARIOUS Mint Mobile ad..

  28. minomininni on October 9, 2021 at 8:34 am

I would have added DLCs. I know, they’re great, but I’m old enough to remember when, to unlock extra content, you simply have to play the game you had already bought.

  29. Moon Knight on October 9, 2021 at 8:35 am

How about mentioning how you are always either the weakest character in the game or the worst that ever lived? Example: Jedi Fallen order… That amazing weapon that you can plunge hilt deep into 5 feet of pure durasteel with no resistance at all..? Yeah, everything can block it and even when you do hit.. the lowliest bug can take 3 or 4 solid blows. Fists raised to the heavens you cry "Oh but you aren’t at full strength yet!".. yeah fat lot of good it does when you only attain full strength when the game is over.

  30. Izzy K on October 9, 2021 at 8:35 am

    Thanks capitalism

  31. Tyler Furukado on October 9, 2021 at 8:37 am

Normally, I fully agree with most things you guys put on a list, but using Overwatch as the lootbox example is awful. It only takes a day or so of play to get an epic skin, a week to get a legendary just through winning coins in matches. The rewards don’t even offer game altering tools, just ways to look different or act different while idle or post-kill. Bad example, OX, bad example.

  32. Riftsrunner _ on October 9, 2021 at 8:39 am

    Getting disconnected…..AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I have been playing the Outriders Demo. And I was doing the side mission you collect from downed solder whose group was killed by an altered. I must have had to have done the initial area about 15-20 times. It always seemed to happen just as I was about to remove the last few enemies at the top of the stairs to the next area. It wouldn’t have been too bad if the game stopped as well, but no you still get to hear you character getting eliminated in the time it take for the console to crash to the main screen to restart the game from launch again including the unskipable Square Enix movie intro of the "bird beast" flying to what I assume is where the humans setup bases before the storm struck.

  33. Sparky Summers on October 9, 2021 at 8:39 am

A rather major editing error: you seemed to imply lootboxes are EVER not crappy. Scummy BS that does nothing but foster gambling impulses.

  34. Layla Lockheart on October 9, 2021 at 8:39 am

There’s a damn good reason the last one is being scrutinized as possibly illegal in some places… More than one…

  35. Gabriel Boblenz on October 9, 2021 at 8:41 am

  37. Raine Phoenix on October 9, 2021 at 8:47 am

One annoyance or minor inconvenience for me is the inability to choose when to save the game, rather than just relying on autosave. Games are so massive, taking dozens of hours to complete in many cases, and the inability to save your game just before entering a new area you’d like to explore, or a particularly enjoyable boss fight for example, can really get annoying when your game autosaves for you, forcing you to play through the game again just to relive the highlight of your game or to explore new places before inadvertently entering an area where the game wants you to be before you’re ready, thus forcing you to bypass optional scenes, encounters, items and materials, or just interesting scenery and locations. The inability to save when and where you choose also ruins many chances for engaging alternate scenarios based on choices previous choices you’ve made in games where that matters, if it saves immediately after you’d made such a choice unwittingly or when you end up doing or not doing something, you blow that chance and have to start all over again. It can also make trophy/achievement hunting more tedious than it needs to be.

  38. Beauyn Nichols on October 9, 2021 at 8:54 am

That’s the kicker with modern games, they want to run off the install on the hard drive but you still need the disk anyway because reasons

  39. Homohuc Dulgi on October 9, 2021 at 8:57 am

There are three problem: MONEY. MONEY, MONEY!

Sell fast, sell anything, sell the same over and over again, lie, exploit, deceive and sell sell sell!

  40. A.J Always wins on October 9, 2021 at 8:59 am

What about having to buy the game and then having to keep a constant money flow so you can play it (ps+ Xbox gold)

  41. M E R M E R on October 9, 2021 at 9:01 am

I cannot tell you how many splatoon matches I’ve been kicked out of from issues on Nintendo’s part. Every single time it happens I check my internet connection, and it’s running perfectly every. single. time.

  42. Aerin Proffitt on October 9, 2021 at 9:03 am

    This video depresses me

  43. David J on October 9, 2021 at 9:04 am

Is it just me or is Animal Crossing one of the least offended of "chores" in gaming cause it’s the bases of the game. Things like making everything a rpg and putting chores in a shooting/fighting game strikes me a bit more. Especially limited events

  44. Jonathon Hennessey on October 9, 2021 at 9:05 am

A problem I have noticed that modern video games have now is that they are often released in an unfinished state, what I mean is that features that are advertised in the game’s promotional material are either included later or left out entirely and also have a large number of glitches and bugs making it impossible to actually play the game.

  45. Alexander Zhmurov on October 9, 2021 at 9:05 am

Ahhh, yes, the "little" irritations of modern life…

  46. The Soup Suds on October 9, 2021 at 9:06 am

Every second you play Rampage: Through Time is very annoying even the mini games.

  47. drue driwood on October 9, 2021 at 9:06 am

you know what I hate, level requirements for competitive modes in games like overwatch and smite. I have 100h in smite and I still can’t play competitively.

  48. Ben M on October 9, 2021 at 9:07 am

My general rule of thumb is to not play any game that will try to inspire "FOMO" in me. Unless you are hardcore gaming hobbyist or have made a career out of gaming, most gamers don’t need to be logging in daily to keep up with things or spending hours comparing editions. I love exploring the sophisticated worlds of new games, but I’m just as happy to pop in an N64 cartridge.

  49. Nature Imposter on October 9, 2021 at 9:07 am

Yea everything on this list is infuriating, especially that loot box shit! It’s extra annoying when you pay for a "better" loot box and don’t get anything useful. 😤
    An expensive mistake.

  50. Ricka on October 9, 2021 at 9:08 am

Games feel like a rip of now
And only try to fit in trends
So you are almost playing the same thing like
    Cod warzone

Those are examples of BATTLE ROYALE

But PUBG is og battle royale
