A group of students build a 4-seater electric aircraft – The e-Sling Project
Twelve students from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich are currently “electrifying” the Sling TSI, a popular kitplane from south-african based manufacturer Sling Aircraft. It’s a four-seater low-wing design and will feature a 110 kW electric engine and a 50 kWh battery. The crew plans to get the E-Sling airborne in Summer 2021.

Thanks as well to Mike from Mojogrip for letting me use parts of his video:
Mike actually built a Sling TSI himself and it looks awesome! He’s sharing his adventures and experiences with his Sling on his channel:

EXCELLENT PROJECT. Expecting further developmentN possibly adding some H2 Fuel Cell as already said.
Very nice presentation.
Thanks a lot.
All the best for your success, definitely aviation needs that kind of development for the future training of pilots and private flying. SLING is an excellent platform to start with.
Really nice to see, proud of you guys 🙌 😎
Good reported and would like to see more swiss innovations 👍🏼
Awesome project. I’m currently building a sling TSI in the UK. Any options to expand the scope of the research project using hydrogen fuel cells as the main power source?
Do you have a close collaboration with the Foca or the Easa for the certification process?
I will buy one of these
Thank you for your visit Simon. It was really fun filming with you.
