0:57 If liners are a thing for that they are super important. The ceramic pot from my slowcooker will sit in or near my sink for a month because to clean it I need to clear space and put stuff away and do dishes and dry them and put stuff away again before I can clean it.
2:20 If you bend the bag in the middle into like a fish-mouth-shape {} stuff won’t get stuck at the edge of the bag.
(Yes I’m editing this as I go through the video. Also youtube comment editing has apparently gotten worse.)
2:55 Does the timer actually go off at 0? I hate the ones that give a 2 minute warning instead of ending at the proper time.

I haven’t been diagnosed but I think I have ADD and my Dr gave me low dose Adderal – sorry I’m not a speller- but my counselor suggested that I watch you and I now I know I have it- the out of site out of mind – using clear containers and soft blankets everywhere! I look forward to watching mire

Pausing video to ask… why can’t we just climb on the counter? 😅

  4. Berry Villain on February 24, 2023 at 5:16 am

I neeeeed that tea pot! What is it called?

  5. Brianna Tozier on February 24, 2023 at 5:18 am

Thank you for showing off your ADHD-friendly home! I actually found that I do some of these things, and I did not realize it was because of my ADHD that they work and make sense for me! Marie Kondo folding has also been something I found helps me – that and I hang many of my clothes, including jeans. I also place baskets/boxes in various places to carry out clutter, or carry my things from one room to the next. I think my next big thing to tackle, though, is the piles of just stuff. I need to purge quite a bit. But as always, you are super helpful!

  6. Phox Ulric Rodgers on February 24, 2023 at 5:20 am

    What brand of tea kettle?

  7. Laura Truxillo on February 24, 2023 at 5:21 am

I keep my meds in the bathroom where I feed my cat. I have AM and PM meds, and while I might not get out of bed proper until noon some weekends, my Harpo wants her breakfast at 6 and her supper at 9 thank you.

Also that chair in your room looks so cozy! Where did you get it?

  8. Shreevidhya Iyer on February 24, 2023 at 5:23 am

That laundry basket color coding is just amazing!! I don’t have ADHD but I have been thinking about 2 different sorting for normal and delicate clothes. I don’t know how my mom will respond, hope she agrees.

  9. Heidi Vasterling-Ford on February 24, 2023 at 5:23 am

I do the Marie Kondo folding too!! Highly recommend, it has helped me not amass too many clothing and clutter and more laundry because I can see what I have and I try to only keep what sparks joy!

  10. Chantal on February 24, 2023 at 5:25 am

Merci, je récupère l’idée de la petite panière pour mettre tous les trucs posés sur la table de cuisine 😅

  11. Karly Saul on February 24, 2023 at 5:25 am

I have ADHD and was pleased to see that I already do like 90% of these! Took me years to figure out though. I also like to put a small trash bin and a mail tray near my front door so when I bring in mail, junk goes in the small bin (recycling/trash) and anything I need to deal with goes in the tray. Then I deal with the stuff in the tray at regular intervals. It helps me not miss mail that requires action and it helps me to not leave junk mail on the table or counter or wherever!

  12. Speedy Duckling on February 24, 2023 at 5:25 am

I have specific places that certain things live and I will not put them anywhere except those places but for example if the item hast to leave my hand before I can get back to that place I start counting out loud aggressively to 10

  13. Kay M on February 24, 2023 at 5:25 am

    Brilliant!!

  14. Sarah Fulton on February 24, 2023 at 5:26 am

I use that same med strategy. I keep my water bottle and meds right next to where I sleep to make it easier to take my meds reliably

  15. Iris Hout on February 24, 2023 at 5:28 am

People have come home to my house and asked why is there a spoon/banana/electric shaver under your pillow? i genuinely dont know how it got there haha

  16. Ben Hagstrom on February 24, 2023 at 5:29 am

THE SPOON REST PARADOX! I feel so seen lol. My daughter doesn’t understand why it’s either always dirty or my spoon is sitting 2 inches left of it on the counter and it’s for exactly the reason you described. I’d like to add this is also a problem with cleaning the burners for the same reason.

  17. Iris Hout on February 24, 2023 at 5:32 am

the "otherwise I’ll climb on the counter" is so relatable haha. I first thought…noo, i never do that. And then i thought a bit longer..Yes..i definitely do that. Just usully only works half and i fall off and i realise i have to go get the step before i make myself a headwound. haha

  18. Maya Berliner on February 24, 2023 at 5:33 am

great, some of these life hacks I already use but wow great tips, thanks.

  19. Teri Gottfried on February 24, 2023 at 5:34 am

Taking your dog for a walk with a mug! Hilarious! Do you have a link for where you bought the electrical tea kettle from? Also where did you buy your plush rug from and the coffee table replacement

  20. Phoenix Girl on February 24, 2023 at 5:36 am

When you said you weren’t going to get the step stool out of the closet and we’re like “I’m climbing on the counter.” I felt that in my soul. 🥲🤣🥹

  21. mayu g. on February 24, 2023 at 5:39 am

I love the idea of big bins and baskets for clutter. I have two major clutter spots in my room that i couldn’t figure out what to do with, and now i do! Thank you!

  22. Désirée Ohrbeck on February 24, 2023 at 5:40 am

Just ordered the time timer – the visual is awesome

  23. MagicPanther2901 on February 24, 2023 at 5:40 am

  24. Lena kay Raby on February 24, 2023 at 5:44 am

thank you for sharing this video. the method of folding how do i learn it

  25. Allison Barnes on February 24, 2023 at 5:45 am

Okay I LOVE that I’m not the only one who takes my meds then goes back to sleep🤣 Makes me feel extra charged when I actually need to get out of bed

  26. Canned Bees on February 24, 2023 at 5:46 am

i keep my meds in those little boxes that mark out the day of the week. simple but effective

  27. Brooke Tucker on February 24, 2023 at 5:47 am

I’m obsessed with your tea kettle. Where did you find this gem? Awesome video btw!! 🙂 A lot of helpful tips to apply here lol we do a lot of these things but some other things I’ve just learned too.

  28. stephanie mcconnon on February 24, 2023 at 5:48 am

    Thank you . Great Video!

  29. Joslyn Pollock on February 24, 2023 at 5:49 am

    What teapot is that?

  30. lekiscool on February 24, 2023 at 5:50 am

My brain knows no bounds, I could know the filters are in the drawer but I’ll go and open the fridge anyway.

  31. Emi'Lee Crenshaw on February 24, 2023 at 5:50 am

This is awesome I was already practicing some of these through my own experimentation. Just wondering where you got the the cover for your tv stand to make it a coffee table or did you hand make it?

  32. Dan Helps You Buy & Sell on February 24, 2023 at 5:51 am

One tip I will use right away is the vertical folding strategy and one that I will consider using are separated colored basket for alternate wash/dry methods. Our house hold already uses separate colors for towels so implementing an extra basket will not be an issue, when we start using it.

↔Also, I am curios about your process for taking medication in the morning ☼. Do you take a bottle of water to bed every night or are you still needing to get out of bed in the morning? Just curious, how best that process works for you. 🙂

One more thing I noticed…. Please describe the ♥heart clicking and motion in the kitchen background at 11:38. I would think it would be a distraction as it would compete for attention as you are resting in your green room.

    Thank you‼

  33. Leslie P on February 24, 2023 at 5:52 am

    This was helpful thank you!

  34. Atypical Male on February 24, 2023 at 5:53 am

I hate doing dishes with a dishwasher. Actually cleaning them by hand helps me relax oddly. I have noticed my ADHD loves tasks where I can see the progression after each step. Raking leaves is another one. 😆

  35. DigitalDragon36 on February 24, 2023 at 5:54 am

I’m so glad YouTube recommended this video to me. INSTANT subscribe!!! I’m creeping towards middle age and only recently realized that ADHD explains so much of my life. I’m definitely going to use some of these tips

  37. Naye Cervantes on February 24, 2023 at 5:58 am

How do you organize your shoes? I struggle with that

  38. TokyoElbow on February 24, 2023 at 5:59 am

I hang everything I possibly can hang on coathangers so that I can see at a glance what I have and also it helps reduce creases. Not that it really matters as I don’t own an iron and I don’t think I’ve used one in about 20 years. 🙂

  39. Sharona Koch on February 24, 2023 at 6:01 am

I actually never noticed that I’ve done this ‘keep things together’ because if I don’t, I forget. On the counter, I have my coffee machine and my water boiler, in the cabinet above there are my mugs and my coffee, tea. The spoons are a bit further away, but I have a tiny kitchen so it’s okay. Also, now we’re talking about coffee, I forgot mine in the kitchen. Typical xD

  40. belacastro11 on February 24, 2023 at 6:01 am

Its 4am now, and I can’t sleep, Im watching a video about adhd and when it got to the end I realized i didnt pay attention in anything from the last half of the video hahahahahh how ironic is it?

  41. Mimse on February 24, 2023 at 6:03 am

Tips and tricks I personally use:

Keep important everyday objects line of sight, in/on places that match my height.
So for example.. My house keys – hanging on a hook right next to my frontdoor, in perfect height that matches where my eyes are when I’m about to leave. Same goes for my meds, perfumes, jewelery (only the ones I wear daily), etc – on a shelf close to my bed in perfect line of sight and matching my height.

Right next to my (always very messy hasn’t-been-cleaned-for-2-months-)kitchensink, I have a mug or small cup that I use to quickly grab and fill w some water to drink w my meds.

I use a timer and a million alarms on my phone to keep track of time throughout the day. For school days, my alarm goes off at 6, but i have several more alarm set for me to remind me of the time, so that I don’t get too distracted and end up being late. It still happens sometimes, but waaaaaay less than before I even knew I had ADHD and before I got into the habit of using this method!

I have a little dusting brush on my desk/working space that I can easily just grab if I feel like my keyboard, desk, monitor, etc is getting a bit dusty. So much more managable than trying to get a wet cloth to clean everything. Especially when I haven’t done laundry in almost a month and I am in desperate need of more rags and cloths, but can’t bring myself to do it lol

Thanks for this! I was diagnosed with ADHD in October of 2022. I am working on learning strategies to manage it.

  43. Madison Middleton on February 24, 2023 at 6:06 am

hacks like these are sooooo helpful. my partner has adhd, and i am always looking for ways to make their life just a little bit easier. thank youuuu!

  44. Emi'Lee Crenshaw on February 24, 2023 at 6:07 am

Agree we just bought a new house and all the walls are white with grey floors.. how original. Anyways my husband does construction and like the “clean” look aka basic af sterile look😅. I was allowed to paint one corner of my living room for an accent wall. He choose beige 🥹 so now I’m currently working on a 48X60 canvas of abstract art for our bed room😂 I’ve gotta have some color

  45. dreamingofmidsummer on February 24, 2023 at 6:08 am

I love your video as they are super helpful! I also have random bins everywhere – they are really useful and reduce visual clutter. The hardest thing in my apartment is not having a dishwasher. It’s a nightmare.

  46. Alilsparkle on February 24, 2023 at 6:08 am

Hi! I just found my tribe!!! Thank you!!! I love the fact that you use the Marie Kondo method of folding clothes so that you can see everything, but how can you stand to fold the clothes? I find that I leave them in the basket, in a bunch – clean, yes, but still unfolded in a pile. How do you motivate yourself to fold them?

  47. Sajdjdiwknwh on February 24, 2023 at 6:09 am

I don’t know why but I really love rewatching videos of tours of your studio/home and cooking. I think it’s really calming!

  48. L S on February 24, 2023 at 6:10 am

Thank you. You genuinely make a difference in so many lives.

  49. maureen brophy on February 24, 2023 at 6:11 am

The walking to fridge upstairs & the on to next thing. Nothing finished, For a while now , I tell myself finish the circles … it helps. And putting thing like u have done together. Not always successful. But better. My daughter told me I had adhd. Made me feel so better. Don’t need meds just relax more & get around to things when I can. I don’t have young kids so easier for me
