All the best laptops from CES 2019

Razer, Asus, Acer, Alienware and more all brought their best to CES 2019, but out of the huge number of laptops we saw during the event, these were the absolute best. From the giant, radical design of the Asus ROG Mothership to the ridiculously light Acer Swift 7, there was a laptop for everyone.

Apologies for the re-upload. YouTube had an issue where it was not notifying our subscriber of new video uploads and some of our videos were not showing up in the subscriber feeds or playlists.

One guy says desktop performance of RTX cards in laptops. This is simply not true. The RTX max-q chips are heavily underpowered because they can only achieve 50% of the tdp of the desktop version so for example, a 550mhz drop in core clock… on a 2070 max q vs the desktop counterpart. Theyre basically their basically 10 series cards of the same (1080 is a 2080 max q etc).

why are gaming laptops so damn ugly!!!!??? some have a nice sleek design but some look like a prop from a bad bayformers film.

LG 17Z990 is a real great laptop Acer Swift 7 has 18×9 display and this size is not good for work! Guys! The most powerful or lite is not the best. How many time you spend with your PC? I prefer big high quality screen, good 2,5K+ resolution, lite weight, very big autonomy, TB3 port, good performance.

My first thought at looking at those cases by Pad and Quill was that they look pretty nice but on second thought, they are pretty darn bulky for holding so few items.

Chrome book? I just feel like it’s not a true OS. Its like companies like apple and Steve jobs idea to have web apps on the iPhone. Just a tad bit more developed, and way more hype. For the frugal consumer tho, it could be a nice alternative to a laptop for your children’s homework though google Drive. Showing it’s one biggest feature of the OS. It’s increasingly more streamlined and promoted.

Why is this framed as a panel of sports desk commentators?  It’s kind of a joke and reminded me of those ridiculous ’80s commercials of PCs bigger than a filing cabinet.  Guy in the greased back hair should button up his pink shirt to his double chin.  No one needs to see his wispy pubes topping out of his shirt.

    Absolute cringe

Amongst all of these, 2 laptops stand out for me: Acer predator & updated Dell XPS 13. I mean the look of Dell XPS 13 is itself enough for me. However, most laptops have this weird position for the keyboard when using the screen as a touchscreen device. Now, I think Acer Predator have made a game-changing technology imitating Surface laptops, with the handles !! So, that’s the technology for laptops in the future. However, I guess their keyboard is so small that it sucks..!

  26. J K on February 7, 2023 at 4:48 am

This was truly painful to watch. Do they have any type of credentials or are they rounding guys up off the subway now?
    For shame.

  27. Raymond Greenwood on February 7, 2023 at 4:49 am

Yes it should be to the right because everyone is right handed .. That’s a machine I will never purchase because I am not right handed.. it’s bad enough I have to click the mouse in reverse but with that laptop we will just make it totally inconvenient.

  28. Terpusat Satu on February 7, 2023 at 4:50 am

Samsung in gaming laptop? first time i heard it

  29. Duane Bidoux on February 7, 2023 at 4:52 am

Well, i don’t agree that the mouse pad should be on the right, but I’m a lefty. However I use my right hand for my mouse with a desktop, and my right with a mouse pad for a laptop (which most right handers do too, no?). When you shift my right hand way to the right I cannot prop the right part of my palm on the laptop in anyway and by shifting my hand way to the right you make it much harder for me to use both hands centered over the keyboard for key entry. But I’m also older, and I actually learned a long time ago in high school to type because I actually had two semesters of typing.

  33. MaZEEZaM on February 7, 2023 at 4:56 am

I read several of the comments before watching this video as at the time, I didn’t have time to watch the whole video and thought surely the significant quantity of negative comments was undeserved BUT then I watched this video, I generally don’t like criticising peoples videos as they take significant effort in putting them together but in this case I really understand, these guys really only talk about the design of the laptops, barely mentioning specs 🙁 Seriously they were more in-depth about the bloody leather dongle cases (which are nice but..), I struggle to consider the target market for this video, surely not the techie community, its more like the Tech segment of the INDUSTRIAL DESIGN AWARDS.

  34. arlrmr on February 7, 2023 at 4:57 am

Without specs and prices these car salesmen will get zero sold. Morons are surely "managers."

  43. lashram32 on February 7, 2023 at 5:09 am

uhg… I feel like I watched a video of used car salesmen selling laptops. Xps look like fantastic reasonably priced machines. I am hoping google dials in the crostini linux component this year … chromebooks look like fantastic, thin client "away from workstation.," options. I’m not ready to dish out a k for a chromebook, but I’m hoping the Os improves this year…. until then, ubuntu on an Xps looks like the best option. why the hell anyone would purchase a "gaming" laptop is beyond me. build a tiny build and get a monitor and spend less. wtf? The so called "gaming laptops" are hardly tops that fit on your lap…. lol so just build a lil one thats portable for you.
