Appliance repair ripoffs caught on camera (Marketplace)

We wire up a house with hidden cameras, rig a washing machine that’s easy to fix and then shop for appliance repair companies on Google. Will you get the fix you need or get ripped off? And what happens when you end up with one company you never called in the first place? We uncover fake listings across the country and many lead back to one call centre north of Toronto.

The problem is most of these techs get paid off commission and the company you work for gets paid for you showing up but you will not. I actually quit a job because of this reason. If you dont make a repair you don’t get paid and you are driving around for 10 to 12 hrs a day. I was told that I could get paid hourly but my attendance and diagnosis will be have to be perfect. So you get this pressure on top of the customer looking over your shoulder which is sorta understandable but when they have rats and roaches it makes its uncomfortable lol so bottom line if you have a problem with a appliance YouTube it 1st 9 times out of 10 you can do the repair yourself but ppl are lazy thats how companies take advantage of them 🤷🏿‍♂️

My washer pump was leaking. Did a google search on how to replace it. The part only costed me $80 and easy to fix.
Otherwise, it would have costed me an arm and a leg.
