Isent it true that when you play a game you know it is a game also whould the said gamers do that to random people also the things they used like hot stuff or loud noises dose not show if they would punch or shoot and there are just some ethics you would have to throw out the window for such things to be tested so at least we can say that using something harmless compared to something harmful is a lot better, as humans and just as animals in general we tend to cheat because cheating can give a animal a leg up in producing offspring, i mean you have made a video about lieing and lieing is a type of cheating

If anything, I’d say violent video games provide a better, safer outlet than leaving that aggression to be released elsewhere. On top of which skills that are useful in reality are often integrated into games; adaptive thinking and resource management come to mind.

they are certainly bad for me. all this violence in the newer tomb raiders, in uncharted and fallout is stressing me out. I can’t get over the bloody images and the anxiety I felt when being attacked. I would love to play adventurous video games with this graphic quality, but I can’t cope with all the images and sounds. they keep me up at night in bed. and this is coming from someone who always plays in "easy mode". I cannot for the life of me comprehend how anyone could play those games and worse (cod,…) and have a good night’s sleep.

So mate if play a football match and I lose ,I would be mad
If it were a tournament I will be more angry
Video games are always comparative so I would be angry
And rage is natural and you get annoyed with someone I will be angry
In video games theres no one so we can freely express our rage

I listen to heavy metal music, watch horror movies, and play Doom and I’m fine. Not at all violent.

  17. old days on April 3, 2022 at 6:58 pm

Ok so i have a theory

It’s probably not true because im not a professional or anything but I peaced peaced it together and it does sound like a reasonable statement

So im thinking that video games probably don’t cause violence most of the time. So let’s take school shootings for example, they may be getting more common as more and more violent video games come out, But I think bullying might be to blame, im sure that most of us have heard of stories of people getting bullied so resentlessly that they kill their bully, and it’s because bullies don’t get punished like they used too, in the past bullies were beaten or spanked so then they weren’t disrespectful and that system worked, there for less madness and violence back then.

And if kids were mimicking violence, there would be more madness and violence back then too because the amount of times i see people get shot in cartoons like loony toons is insane

  36. EveryTimeV2 on April 3, 2022 at 7:16 pm

So why is it the majority of people who do play games don’t go on to commit crimes? This is similar to the determinism studies that assessed that those who felt they had less moral agency might be more likely to ‘cheat’ but cheating says nothing about actually doing a ‘meaningful’ act.

There is also the issue that normal non-judge participants made less harsh sentences when given hypothetical court cases. The judges being trained to do their job however, sentenced people the same, because that’s what is equitable. Meaning that could also be interpreted as giving no advantage at all to ‘moral decay’ in a legal sense and seems contrary to the opinions that those who do not believe in free will, will be the end of society.

Keep in mind the fact that shooters are still extremely rare, and video game players are definitely not. Now go look up the gamer’s dilemma.

  37. GenZPhilosophy on April 3, 2022 at 7:18 pm

They are, I’ve been exposed to it and I was an irritable kid along with being bullied, good thing my empathy kicked in later on in life

  38. André R on April 3, 2022 at 7:19 pm

violent games can be good for you. if your really angry, games can calm you when playing violent games. like others are going to the gym or boxing a sack. or go drinking in a bar and start a bar fight. i think getting out your anger in a video game is much better than going out and doing something in the real world.

  39. futurestoryteller on April 3, 2022 at 7:20 pm

There’s a MST3K gag that I think about all the time now. They’re watching this werewolf movie, and somebody in it tells this scientist that he’s acting like a "Psychopath" and the scientist angrily says "What did you say?" picks up a werewolf skull and tries to hit the guy with it, and one of the droids is like "’I’ll kill your whole family if you call me a psychopath!’"

That’s basically what GamerGate was, and gamers still seem completely oblivious to that.

adult people sometimes do not understand it and youth … youth have always been forbidden everything in mynuity was a book they read young and adults forbade it because the murders are said to have increased anyway from school shooters to now who shot at students so there were only 12% who they played games so it’s quite debatable that those games…
