hes forgot to bleep out ALEXAS name once lmao sry
The guy was right, you don’t need to spend too much to play a damn game. I do because I try to take stuff away from desperate gamers and then I use it once every 2 weeks. Tears brighten my soul and many tears this year!
I feel like you feel superior now that you got a YouTube channel
20:54 "Like Alexa" forgot to censor the name lol
So I worked in retail for a few years in the fishing department. When someone says āIām brand new and I donāt know much but want to get something to get startedā you never want to overload them with detail you want to start with general questions and go from there. Now this was for fishing but my first question was price. Price point dictates what you can buy and narrow it down from there. Usually my next question is what do you want to do with it. I would say for me it takes a good 10-20 minutes to get something that really fits what the person wants. Also I didnāt make commission so I had no problem telling people āyou donāt need this $400 setup when you could spend $150 and do everything you wantā. Itās really hard to help someone with 0 knowledge but they both did well. Iām sure if you talked tech with them they would of talked tech back.
i know exactly whatās going on through the 2nd guys head as because i work there but not only is he trying to help you but heās keeping you under your budget to then attach more items like our protection total tech and other items you may need. at the end of the day we also need performance. so in reality he does not want you to actually spend 2000. i probably know the most compared to most my co workers besides geek squad so they always call me for gaming customers. one thing best buy does teach is to always ask questions so that easy itās easier for us to recommend things. although going in detail is going to be harder because these are things we learn as we go on.
I got a $1000 prebuilt from Best Buy. Love it does everything I need it to do
You got what you ask for they done there job so whatās your point ?
If I only could get a PC. ….
Yea like everyone is saying you just told her your not tech savvy so why would she tell you about VERY SPECIFIC things about the product
It seems pretty obvious that you have never worked retail, or have otherwise forgotten what itās like. The guy changed up his tactics because most people want to spend as little as possible. He changed his tactics when you said you wanted to spend the whole 2k. Duh.
Ik know absolutely nothing about desk top pc and was wanted to know what kind of pc i should get for the Samsung neo g9
This is a terrible video lol
So I have a similar laptop. And it runs all of those games great. So that first girl absolutely crushed it.
11:50 lol i5 12600k is one of the best single-core CPU for gaming. With all the other components included into the system ofc…. lol If you’re just gaming and not doing any streaming or model rendering etc an i5 12k series is absolutely perfect for gaming. I run that and i couldn’t be more happy.
If you add in any 3d rendering etc, model work then the i7 would be better as it preforms a little better in multi-core
"lower end 3070" Lol are we really at the age where we call a rtx 3070 low end? Lol
The first girl did a good job. No expert, but she knew the basics and didn’t try to upsell at all.
they use the same stock photos for the website
Hey just so you know, you do accidentally dox the Best Buy phone girl in the video, I won’t time stamp it but you might wanna edit that out since you edited her name out other places. It’s right before you go to the store.
your bs is bs. i disliked , you disliked everything you said was off limits
I disagree with your assessment at 18:30. My buddy has a regular 3060 and plays games in 4k and 144hz. Of course he doesn’t get 144 fps in all games but I have a 3080 Ti and I can’t get 144hz in most games at 4k. I actually appreciate the fact that he straight up told you, if you’re just gaming, you do not need a high end 3000 series card. Otherwise you perpetuate this ever growing notion that you need a top-specc’d system for GAMING.
My only thing is that the gpus shown on the item picture arenāt always the one the pre built comes with. It would be the same class gpu ( 3080 In this case ) but different config depending what they have on hand. That being said idk if I would break that down to someone because it could prompt them to feel uneasy.
To go in to the store say your not tech savvy and not buying a pc today but want them to break down every detail is greatly over critical. They gave a fair run down of the pcs without getting in to tech specs that would overwhelm the average unknowing consumer.youre nit picking for the sake of finding something wrong.
Why is kyle reacting to the audio like its his first time hearing this covnersation like he wasnt there? lol
Iāll tell you what the PC that they recommended is the pre-built that I got from Best Buy. The picture they use for the product is not what you actually receive in the chassis.
It comes with a different style 3080 non-blower and different style air cooler. And hereās the major problem with that pre-build that they recommend. it has no option for expandability when it comes to storage and it has no case fans so cooling sucks you will have to do a chassis swap eventually.
22:30 unless its a ASUS Hero/Maximus šššš
ngl i game on a i5 and a 1060 but i know what he was recomending is not the best and yes i did build my pc
He said all the gaming PC’s THEY had you couldn’t go wrong with.
Did Best Buy have cheap PC’s that couldn’t do any game at medium 1080p?
As a Best Buy employee I will say a lot of employees have limited product knowledge, the e-learnings we do are extremely basic and you only really get product knowledge by doing your own research (YouTube videos or online reviews) or being there a long time and getting familiar. As a computer rep as well, if someone says they don’t know about computers I give the most basic explanations and often don’t mention specs at all to avoid confusion. It is a shame to see the way the company is going, we are replacing product knowledge with ability to sell credit cards and memberships when all I want to do is use my product knowledge to help people.
Dude… how much can you truly expect from a Retail store employee?
That’s like trying to order a fine win and Kobe beef steak from a Mc Donald’s employee.
If you’re spending the money, you need to do your own research. imo
But….but…..but the Geek Squad is legit A+ certified…
Guys, honestly, yāall gotta chill in the comments. I get that on a surface level Kyle is being a bit harsh with high expectations to match, but thatās ultimately the point of the video, itās an āundercoverā evaluation of the customer service at Best Buy. Heās comparing it to higher standards because heās just trying to show you, the viewer, the in depth information a seller may give to a customer in the market of PCs compared to the on hand knowledge of Best Buy employees. You also have to remember that heās not saying that the customer service in question is admittedly bad, the first brick and mortar store guy sure, heās a bit of an interesting case, but the two other people did exceptionally well and he acknowledges that by saying how they were kind and informative enough to recommend the best option to a customer that doesnāt necessarily know much about technology.
censoring alexa but also no xd
Bro what pc case is that in the background? It looks beautiful and Iām looking for a new case š
He said that 2000 would be a sweet spot the 2nd time whilst adding the fact if you plan on streaming. And not everyone is going to know what you know about pcs š
I guess my (budget?) $600 Gaming PC is crap…..well I am re-using some components. My Arctic Cooling fans, Asus 1060 3GB GPU and a 14TB storage drive. So I guess it’s more like a $1200ish if I add those values all up. Sometimes when you buy things seperate you forget to add them up and then are like oh….I do have a higher endish gaming PC!
I think that looking at the picture on an OEM prebuilt, which this is, isn’t the best representation. Them not asking a "not tech savvy" person about the pixel density and refresh rate of their monitor is going to get shrugged shoulders.
i can game red dead with an i5 so its not that bad but still crap
I used to be a Best Buy employee and I never tried to blow out peoples budget. I always tried to find the best value for them and that may be a reason he recommended something lower than your budget.
Yeahhhhh Im a gamer and tech, if you are a noob customer I would of not of went into detail, just to confuse you. Little silly to assume that a best buy employee over a phone would do that. But, if you were to go into the store. Also we talking to min wage workers that are just getting in field, and best buy prebuilt machines for users and employees easy to buy. I love your videos but not really fair of a representation. Go to a pc shop and do this, with private owners. That would be a great representation.
Great video! Quite insightful. Very good rep on the phone, especially considering other companies (refer to LTT’s Secret Shopper series).
But just out of interest, why did you obscure her name when she said it on the phone, yet reveal it multiple times later on in the video, then obscure it again later?
I like how he bleeps out Alexas name in one clip and then forgets in the next clip š.
What a prick⦠very troublesome customer
was ordering a gaming laptop about 2 years ago and was recommended a laptop with a ryzen 7 4800H and 1660ti over a 3060 with a slightly weaker processor, bought the recommended laptop which went to 100C in not so demanding games and gets <50% of the performance than a well cooled laptop of similar specs( i5-10300H 1660ti)
13:20 to be fair, they are probably trained to not turn anyone away and have to help you when asked, no matter what, unless with another customer.
I’m actually surprised they have a prebuilt that good at that price. Be cool to see someone do a review of this PC.
Iām trying to stream and play graphic heavy games , which Pc should I get⦠rookie here
nah that processor aint brand new
Trying to be a "PC Noob" pulling up in a car full of high end PC parts. lol
Fun video
But…….
These folks are just working a job and doing the best with the companies inventory…..
So their recommendations were not far off for what the store offers
I think they all did a great job assisting you to be honest
