#80s #arcade #nostalgia
Joust was one of my favorites. There was also an obscure one called Night Driver where you raced your car though a race course at night, and only the side markersof the road were rvisible It was a first erson viewpoint and had steering wheel and gearshift controls Missle command was another fun one and so was asteroids.
I was totally addicted to Astroids in the early 80s. I could play for hours with just a few quarters. It was one of the first converted arcade games I played on my first PC around 1984.
I was a teen in the 80s. Strange that none of these games had really caught my attention until Operation Wolf did it in the very late 80s.
I remember them all.
My favorite was bump n jump
My favorites not included in video:
Battle Zone (1980)
Rally X (Atari 1980)
Omega Race (1981)
Robotron: 2084 (Williams 1982)
Joust (Williams 1982)
Pot of Gold (Taiyo System 1982)
Sinistar (Williams 1983) MY #1
Karate Champ (Data East 1984)
Gauntlet (Atari 1985)
in the arcade place I went to there wasn’t a sit down POLE POSITION it was always standing up, There was alot that were missing like BATTLE ZONE, SPY HUNTER, AFTERBURNER,HANG ON,Russin’ Attack, Golden Axe,,
Ahhhh… memory lane. great years for me as a teen. I had forgotten a few of these games!
Time Pilot, Burger time, Crazy Climber, Pulsar, Star Castle… the list of the missed goes on and on.
I miss the 80s more than I can express, as a 16 yr old back than I wouldn’t trade those awesome memories for anything π¦π
POP-EYE GAME
I love Tron, and still love tron, including both movies
A few of my favorites back in the ’80s were Berserk, Robotron, Qix & Vanquard. I think Ladybug or Kaos was the 1st arcade game I played.
Oh wow. Thoroughly enjoyed this!! Galaga was my all time favorite. Had my initials at the top of the screen many times. Our arcade here in Logansport was Bally’s Great Escape. No clock on the wall on purpose! Lol. Anyone remember Joust and Mappy? Loved those too!
Well done
Who the hell is Hubert?
The retro arcades by me charge 10 for an hour. I remember the Seinfeld episode with Frogger and George trying to cross the street. Lol
I have a Stargate machine that can also play Defender in my garage. So hard, yet, so fun!!!!
Asteroids
I went to the arcade to hustle people playing pool in the 80s and I actually won a kinda beat up 442 cutlass one night but then realized I was to young to drive so I took a 100$ and called it even.
I went to putt putt and played these games.
Still think Defender has some of the best sounds ever created for a video game.
Track and field was my favorite!
Great video. Not sure how you didn’t include Pong, Asteroids, Space Invaders, Missile Command, or Joust though
Defender was my favourite. I spent hours playing that game. π
<— 80s child. Arcades were the best! Can’t believe no Gauntlet, Wizard Of Wor or Joust on this list >:(
Lunar lander was fun.
Brought back a lot of memories. Two that I liked that didnβt make the list: Gyruss and M.A.C.H. 3β¦
Pauline was just Pauline, not Peach. She appears in Super Mario Odyssey on the Switch. Great video still.
This video definitely brought some great arcade memories. Thank you for sharing
I stay in Chicago so I go to galloping ghost often
I was born in 1971 and I started playing arcades in ’78 or ’79. I would go to the arcades at Forum 303 Mall in Arlington, TX with my brother. We loved it. He was hooked on Space Invaders. I was hooked on either racing or Star Fire(a pre Star Wars arcade). In the 80’s I played a lot of arcades you named. Here are my favorites: Pac Man, Mrs. Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Frogger, Q-Bert, Galaxian, Galaga, Zaxxon, Super Zaxxon, Rampage, Tron, Missile Command, Spy Hunter and Star Wars(followed by Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi).
I just found your channel and I am really enjoying it! Your voice is very relaxing
I miss the 80s I hope when I die I can spend eternity back there
U can also find dragons lair on sisterhood of the traveling pants 1
Thos where the days !!
Had a friend who’s dad owned an arcade. Coolest thing ever.
C.H.A.S.E HQ
WOW no fat kids…
You missed Joust. I loved Tron, Rampage, Tempest and Centipede. πππΌππ»π
Are you kidding me? I put enough quarters in Pac-Man I could have bought a house!
Please mention Rastan and Raiden in the next video ππΎ
Does anyone out there remember fun zone in carpentersville IL in the 80s. Best arcade ever
Great list! Although I would’ve like seeing Tubin’ on your list.
It’s Saturday Supercade!
Played all of these except Tempest as a kid. Decades later and I’m still a huge gamer.
What happened to Astroids? Oh, and Robotron couldn’t leave the arcade until you beat 1million lol
Double Dragon and DD2.. Skating Parties..ahhh the 80s
Asteriods, Missile Command, Xevious, Gyruss, Joust, Burger Time just to name a few that were not on the list. The early 80’s was a timeless, priceless era. Tons and tons of bands touring to choose from, along with arcades everywhere, so much to do as a teenager. Nothing compares.
At 11:59 was that John Cougar Mellencamp ?,if not, damn sure looked like him.
I loved playing Donkey Kong and paperboy lol
