I want the g14 so bad but im worried about the heat and durability because that laptop has a better price to performance than an macbook

  2. Avieshek on December 17, 2022 at 12:51 am

HP Pavilion *>* MacBook Air – Nothing should be below 16GB RAM & 512GB SSD

  3. jar jar binks on December 17, 2022 at 12:52 am

I would have to disagree with you on that m2 air. For 1200$ its borderline criminal for a laptop to have 256gb of storage. And its really not versatile at all in a sense that many students would want a device that they can do school work on and also game on the side. Sure for developers and specially content creators this is great but maybe not that great for students

Should I buy Macbook Air M2 for Software Development purpose? I am working professional.

If yes, should I go for 16gb/256gb or 8gb/512gb?

    G’day from down under Matt,

I’ve been looking at some second hand laptops as a personal daily (I use an intel butterfly MacBook Air for school and I’ve replaced the keyboard 3 times). Which of the following would you pick for around/less than the price of an M1 air?

    ThinkPad P1 gen 2
    Razer blade stealth
    Asus Zephyrus G14
    Razer blade 14
Or just save for an egpu and a good gpu? I do already have a Thinkpad T480 with 8th gen intel after all

I’ll be starting in a computer science major in two weeks and I need a new laptop so far the m2 macbook air or the 14 inch macbook pro (base m1pro chip and 1tb of storage) had been my top choices due to their convenience, but I believe a windows laptop would be better suited for my major I’m thinking of getting either the asus g14 or m16. Only thing I’m worried about is the quality.

Picked up my stepson the Hp Aero 13 for $549 (Canadian) QHD screen, ryzen 5 5600u, 8gb ram and 512gb ssd. Very happy with this laptop, magnesium build too!

About the best bang for the buck I could find up north.

I’m glad I picked up a 2022 G14 with the 6700S for $1,000 practically brand new. Got it from someone that needed money to move so I offered. Best purchase I made this year.

  20. Obi Dean on December 17, 2022 at 1:03 am

I agree with everything that are shortlisted here except the last one. Imo rather than M2 Air, the M1 Air makes so much more sense. The M1 Air is still no slouch to this day. Excellent performance, great build, touchpad, very good screen from less than $1000. The M2 Air is very good but I afraid will get too expensive after spec it up, reaching closer to the amazing MacBook Pro 14 pricing territory plus it’s not really astounding upgrade from last M1 gen. My 2 cents …

why not assus m16? 2022 version?

  24. Sahil Sahil on December 17, 2022 at 1:09 am

what laptops would you recommend for thin and light intel laptops for gaming

  25. Jon Albher Bohol on December 17, 2022 at 1:11 am

Sad that Acer Swift X is not available in my country. So I got the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro, similar specs but MX450 graphics card, aluminum build, and a 16:10 aspect ratio. For light gaming and editing, I’m quite happy with the MX450.

  26. A on December 17, 2022 at 1:12 am

Hey, would you recommend the m1 air over the acer swift x for a software eng student. I’m going to have to run things like android studio and docker in the future and I plan on keeping the laptop at least for 5 years. For the m1 air my only concern is the ram, (16gb isn’t available where I’m from) I think the m1 chip delivers more than I really need. Also costs about 200 USD less than the acer swift x.

  27. Sahil Sahil on December 17, 2022 at 1:13 am

which processor is better AMD or intel?

  28. Daniel Sujay on December 17, 2022 at 1:13 am

Hey Matt, I’m attending cal Lutheran uni this fall. I’m doing MSIT management and cybersecurity I’m really torn apart between the hp aero 13 and M1 air (p.s my budget can’t go over 850) so what would you suggest ??

I ended up getting the Asus zenbook pro 15 flip OLED for school. It’s $1399 and it came with a 12700h, A370M, 96 wh battery, and a really beautiful 120hz oled display. Killer laptop.

Where is the lovely Italian old woman ?

  42. Jdjxhxjs Hshshs on December 17, 2022 at 1:33 am

I’d only switch m2 MacBook air with m1 MacBook Air. Its still such a great deal, it has great performance that not only will be enough for most people, but for school it is more than enough, great compact design, great battery, great keyboard and speaker and most importantly waaayy cheaper than m2 version. its big price difference for not that big performance jump, if you really need significantly more power than I’d suggest spending a lil more money and going for m1 pro MacBook Pro 14"

  49. Ki1-Ahmed on December 17, 2022 at 1:45 am

For the macbook air is 256 gb enough??

  50. Michael M. on December 17, 2022 at 1:48 am

I just want to mention he said the M2 MacBook is “a little over $1,000 dollars” and then proceeded to show the price at $1900. Definitely not what one would assume when you say a little over, haha.
