Wow, these units have a nice hefty price. I just use a fish app using my android and it works for me…. :-), but I’m just dirt cheap …..LOL.

  2. Ryan Oleston on October 27, 2021 at 9:24 am

Can you do a after purchase review/how to of the one you purchased for your Dad? Hook2 tripleshot

  3. Fred Reese on October 27, 2021 at 9:27 am

5 inch screens are hard to read. If you wear reading glasses like myself you need a bigger screen. None of these have a focus function.

  4. Got Pho? on October 27, 2021 at 9:27 am

    That lowrance you said it’s 5" , I don’t believe so. Seem like it’s 7" to me

  5. Lou Zaza on October 27, 2021 at 9:27 am

Help!!! I’m new to boating and love fishing. I don’t go in lakes I live on Long Island in Ny and were surrounded by marine environment. Sand bars and rocks everywhere. Some spots get real shallow even when it seems you’re in the middle of no where. What should I get? What do you think would work best for me? I’d like to see the depths and fish and things to avoid. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve already bottomed on a sand bar and thank Jesus it didn’t destroy my prop or suck sand into my water pump.

What’s the difference between the HOOK2 7X triple shot and the HOOK 2 7

  7. matthew hamilton on October 27, 2021 at 9:30 am

If you had to choose between side imaging and down imaging which would you choose

  8. Casper Lee on October 27, 2021 at 9:32 am

    Nice video

  9. gbunton on October 27, 2021 at 9:39 am

what a load of horseshit, idiots who wouldn’t know how to fish if someone handed them one.

  10. MIKE ROGGIO on October 27, 2021 at 9:39 am

Thank you very much for your informative video. What feed back have you received on the overall reliability of the 3 units especially in saltwater? The areas of the Chesapeake bay that I usually fish can go from freshwater to a salinity of about 13 ppt. The mouth of the bay averages 25-30 ppt.

  11. Jeremy LeonGuerrero on October 27, 2021 at 9:40 am

Flopping Croppie I’m new to kayak fishing. I never used a fish finder I know I need a 7” scanner do to my vision. I’ll be using in local lakes and saltwater fishing. What would recommend? Thank you

  12. Jeff Sadon on October 27, 2021 at 9:40 am

Do these units come with everything or do you have buy the battery or transducer and if that’s the case how much more would that cost??

  13. Bucky DoeDowner on October 27, 2021 at 9:41 am

Will any of these unit let me chartplot a pond or small lake that isnt on a map?

  14. SteveChen Fishing on October 27, 2021 at 9:42 am

Liked and subscribed. I wonder which one you think is the best for crappie fishing? Is 7 inch a must or 5 inch is fine? I’m on a paddle kayak fishing for crappies. Thx!

  15. Mr Tules on October 27, 2021 at 9:42 am

Hi, great vid so thanks for that. Just one question for you. You say the Garmin has basic GPS but the ones I’ve looked at seem to have "Quick draw contours". Is this not a fantastic advantage over the others (or do they have something similar)? The waters I’ll be fishing have little or no topo maps available as far as I can see so this feature is almost a must.

  16. J Ames on October 27, 2021 at 9:42 am

Does the hummingbird come with a transducer?

  17. Justinas S on October 27, 2021 at 9:43 am

Thanks for this rewiew.I want to ask. If I buy and connect triple shot transducer , instead of a double shot. Will the side imaging start on Lowrance hook2 splitshot ?

  18. mike Bussart on October 27, 2021 at 9:43 am

In your opinion which is more important to have? Your best fish finder at the console or on the front of the boat with the trolling motor ?

Great review man, Thanks from Norway.

  21. Wayne Sammy Swingle on October 27, 2021 at 9:46 am

Man am I lost. I stopped fishing years ago, heck hummingbird had just come out with a "Fish ID" unit that showed possible fish as a red marker if I remember correctly. Now I am trying to get back in and these units are harder to figured out than the bass. Thanks for helping some.

    Garmin ff650 is good fishfinder?

  29. Michael Harrison on October 27, 2021 at 9:55 am

Thanks for this review. I’m confused by the Lowrance Hook 7 that came with a jon boat recently purchased. Your review indicates they have Side Image, but mine does not, as far as I can tell. What am I missing?

  30. David Henry on October 27, 2021 at 9:56 am

So I looked online at the hummingbird ice package. Does it come with the sonar and Di and Si unit? I plan on using it on my kayak. Just curious if that set up would be everything I’d need or if I’d have to buy other things

  31. James Reese on October 27, 2021 at 9:56 am

You just saved me hours of internet research👍👍👍. I just bought a 30ft cabin cruiser I’ll be using in Lake Guntersville AL. I’m not much of a fisher since I have a phobia of touching fish. I’m going to attempt to break that if I have something to help me find them. My main reason for needing this is to keep from ripping a hole in my boat with a rock or running up on a shallow area. I have navonics on my phone but it’s a hassle. My original round depth sounder is sketchy also. This was going to be my alternative. Which one would you recommend. I subscribed and greatly appreciate the vid.

  32. Fed Reserv on October 27, 2021 at 9:56 am

Preloaded maps might worth for USA people, yet for the rest of the world this does not make any advantage at all. Down Side Imaging makes the difference and considering "ease of use" Lowrance definitely makes it best choice for the buck.

  33. ec Crump on October 27, 2021 at 9:57 am

That truly answered questions that I need it thank you I had already did exactly what you said about the units but I appreciate hearing it for somebody uses one all the time

Getting ready to purchase a fish finder. This video is very helpful. And I thank you for it.
Question for you. Now that it’s close to 2022. Is this information still up to date?
    Thank you.

  39. Ancil Marcantel on October 27, 2021 at 10:05 am

Does anyone know if this can flush mount?

  40. James Raymer on October 27, 2021 at 10:08 am

I have a helix 5 and my cousin has Helix 7 units. Both units fogged up and will not turn on.

  41. Jared O on October 27, 2021 at 10:09 am

do any of these units create there own contour maps as you explore the water.

contour maps are not available in most of the waters I fish so a unit that maps it out for me after a few days on the water is very important. My recomendations?

  42. TheFlyguy71 on October 27, 2021 at 10:15 am

I did my own research before watching your video and what I found aligned perfectly to the recommendations.

I just bought a new garmin striker vivid 9sv for $400. Currently I have a lowrance hook2 reveal with a 5 inch screen. I want to mount one of the transducers on the bow(trolling motor I guess) of the boat. I was wondering which one you would recommend mounting there?
