Capacitors, Resistors, and Electronic Components
What do all those capacitors, resistors, chokes, and transistors on your motherboard actually do?

I AM GOING TO LIKE BCUZ HE NOT A STUPID UTUBER SAYIN LEAVE A LIKE AND SUB HE ONLY SAID "IF YOU WANT TO LIKE THEN LIKE IF YOU WANT TO DISLIKE DISLIKE YOUR CHOICE" LIKE TO U TECHQUICKIE
Last gens boards were the nicest. Nice clean black PCBs with copper or silvered traces, little or no RGB, like the 970 Pro series.

Lifesaver
Love you and your channel
Last day i was playing Gta V for like an 11 hours straight and,, i saw my motherboard sparked like it exploded close to the cpu fan, and it died, i have a motherboard that has light led, but i keep turning it on from avr box but nothinf at all works i waa thinking if the motherboard is broken or cpu? nor Psu? I’m needing help if could it be repaired or buy new components. i was so sad because it new. i built the pc this week and it died 1 day ago i’m worried :<< help me:(
I feel like this video would be great for 12 year old but I just can’t do it I feel like he’s talking to us like we are dumb as a box of rocks
our factory can get protoyping quickly, and batch production wirh good price.
Woken in a nutshell
What is the difference from a voltage and a current?
What’s a PCB or motherboard? I came here to learn but it starts with loads of TLAs and technical jargon that isn’t taught or explained 🙁
2:54 spoiler : I’m excited
Why can’t I find a video explaining the numbers on those little squares
Can’t use electricity directly from your power supply????? All the electricity is DIRECTLY FROM YOUR POWER SUPPLY. The different coloured wires indicate different voltages 12v yellow 5v red 3.3v orange 0v black and then there are other colours for specific uses. This is NOT a good explanation of these components, how they work and what they’re for. Leave this sort of thing up to EEVBlog and other channels of the like….. You got one thing right FORGET everything he just said…. this is a bad video
Hi ,is car ecu board components the same as those of PC ‘ motherboards?
He sounds like that dude in the Infographics Show
Guy’s funny 🤣
isn’t voltage related to current? if a capacitor smoothes voltage, wouldn’t it also smooth out current? how does a choke help in this situation differently compared to a capacitor?
very helpful thanks
Is the capacitors supposed to be wiggly. Mine is. I’m pretty scared rn.
hot radeo… aaaa
*s i d e w a l k*
3:40 *i smell misinformation*
This guy looks a lot like Chris Hemsworth.
full bridged rectifier
I learn more from this channel than from school lol
Huh no comment on the anime pillow not a hater
Good job, thanks
Honesty, with all these discouraging comments into opening PSUs here, it shows that there are few tinkerers here. Why not advice people into taking the necessary precautions when opening these power supplies instead of telling people to keep off power electronics? 🤷🏾♂️. For Christ’s sake, most PSUs today have bleeder resistors and if not, one can discharge the capacitors. I have worked with power supplies for many years and I haven’t been electrocuted by these capacitors. If I had a mentality like most of you guys, I would never had worked with power electronics. 🤦🏾♂️
i got linuses ad what
I feel ridiculously stupid watching this video since I learned about this in trade school..and forgot all about it
I want to learn
Pls help me
Electricity is stored in the capacitors in the same manner as pee is stored in the balls
2:52 lolololol
Basically there are buck converter on
Motherboard. For voltage ragulation.. 👍
Do not open your Power Supply unit. YouTube search a tear down if you really want to see inside one.
Hi Sir , i put 12V on my module 😭 now it has no communication no nothing .. what do you think are all resistors Burnd Ore ? Can it be fixed ? And if so what do i need to replace so it Will work again please thank you !!! Funny video 😉😉
1:37 He had me at SKILKY SMOOTH!
the best success that ive had was by following the Gregs Electro Blog (just google it) definately the no.1 info that I have ever followed.
You are definitely better in explaning than my Science Teacher
plz hel me identified this voltage regultor ic right right voltage – (AMS 1117/1835 )
this ic use in server X58 Motherboard
did you say eccsetera? lmao
nice one
“Little kingdom” I’m the king in that city 🌃
HE SOUNDS LIKE HANK FROM CRASH COURSE
Thanks
I’ve bent and snapped a few those to put on a larger heatsink.
But how can i find a list or smt about all my electronic components on my motherboard ?
OMG he said HTTP2 for FAST support………oh man brings me back. Also i totally love the little hair fix at the end he looked so awkward in the middle of it like he realized he’ll get yelled at for covering his face during the shot. Good info tho 11/10 i wish you guys did a lot more of this stuff! (maybe i’m just dumb and hadn’t come across any till now)
LOL When I was a kid I threw a capacitor into flame and watched it.It expanded like a balloon and bursted. And the firewood stove split in half XD.Then I got grounded for a month.
TBH I think the plastic IO port covering on ROG motherboards is ugly
