circuit bending a durabrand home theatre speaker wosit

This is PART ONE, when I feel better I will do part 2, I felt fine when I filmed this, but now while I’m uploading I feel absolutly rotten. Anyway I have his crappy durabrand (need i say more?) home theatre speaker which I’m doing some modifications to so I don’t have to use the buttons on the front of it. This is also the SECOND attempt at uploading, my retarded comptar decided to disconnect halfway though last time.

I too thought that was strange. I think the "preamp" is actually a kind of "gate" that only lets an audio signal through when it’s powered. The 15 volt for the amplifier chips is always on on, so they are always powered, even when it’s in standby.

I don’t think these transistors are preamps because the TDA2030A doesn’t need a preamp (at least at the normal RCA jack levels). The transistors are maybe for a standby circuit that turns the power of the TDA2030As on and off. So if there are 5V the power for the amps is turned on.
It would be a good idea to install seperate inputs for each channel instead of the two channel input. So that this device can be used as a real 5.1 surround system.

or you could just re wire the main buttons and make a wired remote. or better yet just use the oem remote that came with it.

I’m looking forward to see the second part!
The TDA2030A is a really nice chip, I built several different amps using it.
