Cussan Channel Description:

We’re lifelong video game enthusiasts with a passion for showing the world how our favorite hobby has grown with us, from individual series to industry-wide retrospectives.

We put significant time and creative effort into each one of our videos, including research, digging into archives, recording voiceovers, and editing. Every video takes as many as 10 hours to produce, because we strive to give our fans consistent, high-quality content.

Our popular “Evolution of…” series goes far beyond simply presenting gameplay footage. We take the time to show how a video game property — its gameplay, character designs, graphics, sound direction, etc. — have evolved over time. We include unique voiceover work on each video to enhance the viewing experience.

People have been playing video games for decades. In that time, we’ve gone from moving a white line up and down to block a moving pixel, to participating in full-fledged, painstakingly rendered real-time battles with people all over the world. We help older gamers look back on how these experiences have changed throughout their lives, and new gamers to understand the broader context of the series they’re playing for the first time today.

The video game medium never stops growing, and we’ll never stop chronicling its evolution.

Recording, Editing, and voice over were made by me.

You folks seem not to like Star Trek whatsoever.

I remember being blown away by the environments in Far Cry 2, but not being able to play for long before nausea kicked in. The devs recognised that it was a common issue (something to do with the motion of the ‘camera’), and the problem was solved by players being able to turn off the sway effect when the character was moving around. Don’t remember if that was a setting that was available from initial release, or they had to issue a patch for it.

    No Killzone?! 🤔

  6. Grumpy ol' Boot on August 18, 2021 at 10:05 pm

To go from Wolfenstein 3D to Crysis in just 15 years … man the nineties and early 2000’s was moving fast.

  9. Mackenzie Wachter on August 18, 2021 at 10:06 pm

Why not Super Mario Bros for 1985, The Legend of Zelda for 1986, Sonic the Hedgehog for 1991, Super Mario 64 for 1996, Final Fantasy 7 for 1997, The Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask for 2000, Super Smash Bros Melee for 2001, Team Fortress 2 for 2007, Bayonetta for 2009, Tekken 7 for 2015, Overwatch for 2016, Super Mario Odyssey for 2017, or Super Smash Bros Ultimate for 2018? Sounds like us Nintendo, SEGA, Square Enix, Valve, Bandai Namco, and Blizzard fans are pretty semi-pissed about this.

Графика застряла на уровне 2014-2015 годов т.е. улучшения в новых играх минимальны. Зато требования к системе заоблачные. Это относится ко всем играм не только к тем что здесь показаны. имхо.

2:28 Pretty sure that’s not Galaxy Force 2. I recognize that, but i can’t remember the name. Racing games aren’t really my thing.

Games were fun back then.. and easy to pick up and just play.
Now games are way too complicated .. needs a lot of time just to finish something

  33. Laz 001 on August 18, 2021 at 10:33 pm

Meh. Graphics look great and all that with standardised libraries etc. Yet physics are still terrible homegrown mess. What on Earth is going on with the foot steps at 11:05?

  34. Abram Little on August 18, 2021 at 10:36 pm

I remember playing madden 2001 at my grandparents and they thought it was real

  35. JC_Malone on August 18, 2021 at 10:39 pm

No Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, GTA, Tome Raider, Red Dead Redemption, or Call of Duty.

  36. NOSTRADAMUS on August 18, 2021 at 10:40 pm

Quake didn’t look like that when it came out. It was a juddery, muddy pixelated mess on the average Pentium 2 unless you were lucky enough to be able to afford the first dedicated 3D graphics card from 3DFX. Graphics cards, specifically the Voodoo 2, were not mainstream in gaming until Quake 2 had already been played to death.

  37. tridents on August 18, 2021 at 10:40 pm

game from 1958 with better explosion effects than cyberpunk
