I received my A95K today and I put a 4K video on both at the same time adjust both TVs the way I liked and I saw that both TVs are almost identical I like the colors of the S95B a little better and the Samsung was a little brighter but when I went to the cable box I Sony looks a little more detailed in SDR and I went to Jason Bourne on the stairs to look at motion and saw that the S95B handles that better like the C1 does, motion is good on the cable box but I do prefer that color pop that the S95B gives that to me Sony holds back a little but the A95K is very impressive in my opinion and I didn’t like the Value Electronics shootout cause all the judges new where each tv was and that’s a bias but both TVs are awesome
How are they gonna do a shootout before all tvs launch this year? If it were an unbiased shootout, they would give ALL tvs types a fair shake. Unfortunately all they care about is oled.
I recently commented on another content creator’s channel stating that I am happy with my LG C2 and don’t see the need to spend and additional $1000 just to get the Sony A95K. Some Sony fan boy replied to me, basically criticizing my stance on sticking with LG. Bottom line, when LG releases their qd-oled next year it’s wrap.
Hi Quantum. I hope you see this comment and maybe tell me your thoughts on it:
The nature of my job allows me to experience the latest technology side-by-side and I’ve done an initial first impression comparison between the S95B and the A95K. Now, you already know about the S95B, so I’ll just keep it simple about the A95K: The colours are great thanks to Quantum Dot, but you can clearly see Sony is intentionally dialling back the colour vibrancy and brightness for the sake of ‘accuracy’. It doesn’t pop and isn’t as bright as the Samsung. I think that if Sony increases those, their mantra of having accurate picture quality diminishes. I feel like that’s what’s holding them back. Therefore, in my own opinion, in the UK, it’s not worth the £950 RRP price difference. If you want accuracy, just calibrate the S95B and save some £££ I’d say 🤷♂️
Sir please reply me that should I buy sony oled a80k Or samsung qn90b. Sony is giving 2 years of warranty and samsung is giving 10 years warranty. So please suggest me that which Tv i should buy
I agree with you 100%. Plus, you are right, it’s weird. I also noticed that a number of YouTubers are banding together. Now it’s become a marketing tool for the manufacturers. I now look at all of them for what it’s worth.
Thank you very much Quantum for clarifying everything. You’re one of the real guys on YouTube when it comes to AV. You’re talking pure facts they made a95k the winner but ask yourself who’s tech is it really? Samsung created the panel for sony and manufactured the QD technology they deserve more credit. For price and the extra features you can get I don’t get how can the a95k be a better tv when it offers less and you have to pay Sony tax.
A95k is a great tv but just like you said quantum this is all disingenuous and based on peoples opinions. You had people like classy crying trying to justify why the g2 should of beat the s95b… like are people crazy? How can woled outperform QD oled. Classy was trying to remove the fact the g2 had bad black uniformity after talking about how bad the black levels on Samsung leds are, But when it comes to the g2 he says it shouldn’t be taken into consideration. Crazy people man 😂
I agree with you for the most part. I unfollowed some of guy you mentioned. Robert is a Sony diamond dealer. It’s no accident that whole group praise Sony. Now they trying to Also tell us the x95K is also great.
They shouldn’t use the professional monitor. Why can’t they use their eyes to see what picture looks the best, not what looks closest to the so call small Super TV.
Value electronics shootouts are a bunch of bollocks if I have to say. Going into it it’s always an Oled TV that wins after almost day of testing and judging in a dark room. A lot of guys there already has confirmation biases and these awards are subjective at best. They’re not representative on what many more consumers would want to buy. I agree that awards logos from shootouts should be taken away on product pages on these TVs as it’s extremely misleading regarding the TVs performance.
Would you ever consider taking part in a shoot like that at all? I think if all you guys in the AV community were involved it would hold a bit more weight to get not only those who took part but you and other AV influences on what us as the consumer should expect when the time comes to purchasing a new TV.
Didn’t the owner of value electronics work directly with Sony too this year? I’d also like to add if you put the shootout metrics vs rtings metrics they are also in conflict. It’s a mess
i totally agree i was 100% sure they going to choose Sony #1 TV of 2022 value electronics is a puppet on the string controlled and paid by Sony they are all Sony fans at the end of the day all of them will get compensated from SONY
Hey quantum what do you think about emulation? I’ve recently gotten into PS3 emulation and have been messing around with settings on games that I have. Would be interesting to see a video from you on this topic
they are all too expensive and too bright. dripping honey and black teapots are not typical programming. hisense, vizio, tcl make nice tvs too, way above value electronics winner 5 years ago, though i really like what value electronics has brought to the table. i have a sony 800e and an old lg 1080p set, both 55". my needs would be met if i could just sit 4 feet in front of them, not 8 feet.
I heard from ppl that bought the samsung 95B not to updated it because it take the brightness i personally saw the tv mounted on friends wall and it’s beautiful 🔥🙏🏼
I agree you have to be creative to unviel the full potential of the TV as all of them have different settings and tid bits to offer. Locking yourself to this old standards such as rec 709 calibrations completely restricts the tvs full capabilities and isn’t a true fair comparison of all these units. To be honest when I worked at best buy last year, calibration services were discontinued where I was at and no longer offered its such a niche service based on what rec 709? Why not on rec 2020 or DCI 3 as it covers a wider gamut of colors that cannot be shown with rec 709? Was not a fan of this TV shootout.
Very good thoughts on this important topic. Then you have some gaming and display issues which are becoming more important too. QD OLED has issues on text depending processing, signal source and HDR.
Oh I bought a 83 G2 for Value Electronics because they were the only ones to have one and I have issues with it and call to get a refund or exchange, they don’t call me back and act like I’m doing something wrong with the tv. I’ll never buy a tv from anywhere except BestBuy ever again.

Thank you for being honest about the information that is out there and how they do things.
What is the great picture tvs out there? What TV do you have? Thank you.

Are you going 2 get the A95K for review on the channel???
Totally different tv but I noticed the U8H is available on Amazon, as I did with my previous I’ll wait for you to review before buying it or an LG C1.
How are they gonna do a shootout before all tvs launch this year? If it were an unbiased shootout, they would give ALL tvs types a fair shake. Unfortunately all they care about is oled.

To be fair the A95K is a phenomenal TV. I’ve had mine for a couple of weeks and I absolutely love it
there’s a reason Sony loses market share every year

The Panasonic LZ-2000 will beat the Sony.Vincient from hdtvtest has determined the 2000 to be the most accurate oled on the planet.
Are u gonna review the New Vizio MQX Qled?

Will u be testing the Samsung vs Sony 8k tvs?
If you already did, which has the better control over blooming & upscaling?
Thanks.
The LG Z2 is the best tv right now.

Wow I didn’t know tv companies were using the term shootout. I really thought you meant shout out lol
Spot on. That event hasn’t changed my mind on the LG or s95b. I really didn’t care for it.
They shouldn’t use the professional monitor. Why can’t they use their eyes to see what picture looks the best, not what looks closest to the so call small Super TV.

I don’t blame them for caring about oled. Infinite contrast is the new standard. But ks8000 was better then lg oleds in 2016 for example

Just started shopping for a tv. Was looking at the Hisense 55H8G1. Really don’t want to spend more than $500 Or $600 any suggestions?
Quantum.
Which would you recommend between LG G2 and Sony A95K?
They are in the same price tag where I live
UR A N I = — G// G ///E~~~~R
Sony wins? 😂

although I think Ur super critical of Sony tvs and me being a Sony fanboy, persay, I agree with U. It was a no brainer Sony would win.
Hey quantum would you review the new Lg qned90 2022 tv or have any insight to how it might perform.
How can a 25k tv go up against a 8k dollar tv verses a 2000 dollar tv?
Thank you for being honest about the information that is out there and how they do things.
What is the great picture tvs out there? What TV do you have? Thank you.
Had your settings that mimic qd oled on my c1 haven’t changed a dam thing it’s perfect
Before the whole thing even finished I already knew Sony 🤣
