Thank you so much for this video! Hardest part was getting the part asap. Was able to bypass door on broken part to allow airing fridge until I found new part next day to save my groceries. Installed new damper in about 6 mins!

Can you open the damper by hand?

  11. Charlie Sizemore on November 17, 2020 at 12:49 am

What size socket are you using to take the screws out?

  12. James W. Thompson, Jr. on November 17, 2020 at 12:49 am

I had the 5 beeps with the flashing digital H1. If you open your freezer door while holding your hand over the vent in the top left corner of the refrigerator, you should feel air circulating. If you do, your issues is that the return air flow, on the left wall hidden by the top draw, is frozen and not allowing circulation. Get rid of the ice before replacing the damper. I used a hair dryer to melt the ice and the H1 disappeared as the temperature in the refrigerator dropped to normal again.

Thank you for this tutorial. Found the number for mine on Searsparts.com then ordered it on Amazon with next day delivery. Fridge works great now. It’s a tedious assembly but I survived 👍

I can’t figure out what kind of socket driver can reach the screws in that housing. Nothing I have in 4 kits can both fit the hole and reach the screw, never mind the size. WTF, Frigidaire?

  22. broncoremy on November 17, 2020 at 1:04 am

great repair. i have the same one, broken for the same thing. still not working after replacement. Getting those back 2 screws in is a terrible ordeal. It is all plastic and nothing lines up properly. I really hate this refrig, POS in my book. Takes nothing away from this video which is very good.

  23. R NEAL on November 17, 2020 at 1:04 am

Does this fix the issue if the H1 is on the freezer side?

  24. Frank Ziemba on November 17, 2020 at 1:05 am

This way a great instructional video. Very straightforward and step by step. Much respect to the narrator. You can tell his first language was Spanish but his English was spot on. Most Americans can’t speak Spanish and when they do I usually throw up in my mouth. This was a great video

  25. Adam Roddy on November 17, 2020 at 1:06 am

The amazon part linked is not the same part used in the video

My brother how are you .. thanks fiebre video very helpful and the beginning I thought it was the damper but is not I’ve don’t lots of resets that show that my damper is working .. now the problem that I have with my refrigerator (same kind you have) is the board in the frizzer side I got the number “2” blinking and every time I change the temperature it goes back to number “2” the “H1” is in the refrigerator side …I check the damper and the thermostat and both are working I think is the board is not working ….

Thanks a bunch, an independent single lady was able to fix her refrigerator because of your video!

  33. Martha Henry on November 17, 2020 at 1:26 am

I had opened the damper panel to check the part because I think the wrong part was sent to me. The H1 error was showing on the fridge side and the freezer is working fine but now after replacing the panel, the H1 is showing on the freezer side; though the freezer seems to be working fine, but the fridge side is still not cooling. If I replace the air damper, will this correct the H1 problem?

  34. Christian Sosa on November 17, 2020 at 1:28 am

What if it’s flashing H1 on the freezer said ? Well the damper fix it ?

  35. pamela mendez on November 17, 2020 at 1:30 am

How long after replacing it will it go to cooking regularly? I don’t feel any cold air coming out…unless the freezer side is open

  40. MsTy2908 on November 17, 2020 at 1:32 am

Will this work on any model number? My frigidaire is FFHS2622MSN and I have a H1 code, the refrigerator side is not cooling.

  41. Shane Meyers on November 17, 2020 at 1:33 am

I have a similar issue with this model but instead of flashing h1 it flashes 4 when it is set at 6. After a while it will go back to 6 and stops flashing then about 5 or 6 hours later it will go back to flashing 4 on the refrigerator side. Is it the control panel ?
