  3. KAL-EL Of Krypton on May 12, 2022 at 8:30 pm

    Shouldn’t you use a 30 amp breaker, and a 3-10 wire, for a 220 connection?

  4. WX2 on May 12, 2022 at 8:32 pm

Hi, just a quick and easy question for you; I noticed in some of your other videos; you have excess wire in coils before going into the circuit breaker. I am interested to know if there is a purpose; or benefit to doing this? Thanks.

Can I use a double pole 20 amp braker to run the 220 out side for my emergency power box. To run 220 back in my home with the main off?

220V 3-WIRE … Use BLACK for L1 RED for L2 and WHITE for NEUTRAL strapped to GND….. Follow NEC CODE ….. Don’t get in the habit of touching the BUSES…. bad habit…. I worked with 3-PHASE 4160V and have seen my share of accidents….

    Outstanding video. Very helpful, thanks

  14. Guardian 2nd Ground Div on May 12, 2022 at 8:43 pm

If you take a voltage tester and it drops to nothing between the common, and power it is a ground wire issue. Each side can test fine on ground but should max at 220v-240v across (w/o ground being included)- if you survive a 220v shock it feels like you stuck your hand in a blower fan-

Great instructions. Clear. Have you considered a video connecting autotransformer from solar inverter to panel?

  16. humlakullen on May 12, 2022 at 8:47 pm

Remember kids; it’s better to do this while drunk. Then when you get zapped, you won’t feel it as much:-)!

  21. Jerry Carson 50 on May 12, 2022 at 8:48 pm

Why does a subpanel/box have a white bar and copper wire strips? I saw in the main box the white and copper are on the same strip, but subpanels do not. Why?

  26. jtro on May 12, 2022 at 8:57 pm

Do you need to use a larger gauge wire for 220v if it’s explicitly for a dedicated home oven?

  27. Society is Pathetic Death is Magnetic on May 12, 2022 at 8:57 pm

Helpful video, I avoid electrical work because lightning is both frightening and fascinating to me. But seeing as how I probably couldn’t count on my dad showing up to his own funeral, I got to pick up where he left off. Lets see if I ride the lightning or fry a water heater hopefully neither. At least the odds look better thanks to this video.👍

  28. Robert Woodward on May 12, 2022 at 8:58 pm

Would have been better if you showed the ground wire anchored into the bus bar.

  29. Mark Woten on May 12, 2022 at 8:58 pm

I would add short wires for the incoming power at the top of the box.

  30. Jennifer Payton on May 12, 2022 at 8:59 pm
