How to Learn English with Video Games (what science says)
Yes, you can learn English with video games! Playing games like Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite, Minecraft, or World of Warcraft is the best way to learn English. It’s even better than watching TV (or Netflix) or reading books in English. But what makes gaming the best way to learn English? How can you learn English from gaming?

Did you learn English while gaming?

Leontes, Marissa Balidoy here. What you’re saying here is right. My Korean student said he also learns English from playing Roblox. 🙂
AWESOME VIDEO HENRIQUEZ !!!! Keep em comin you rock !!!!!!! LIKE 1 !!
Mr. Henriques story-mode or online multiplayer what do you think is better for enhancing English level? BY THE WAY, I GOT THE SERIES S
Brilliant video, Leontes!!!
As someone who grew up playing World of Warcraft I couldn’t agree more with these statements. I was 6 years old when I started playing WoW and I used to always sit on my mum’s lap communicating with their guildies from all over Europe, mostly the UK. It has benefited me a lot with my language learning journey, especially being so young when I was first exposed to the language. It has helped a lot with my fluency as well as my pronunciation.
Do I game?
*Stares at game library of 1300 games of which half have not even been touched yet*
… yeah a little..
Makes me want to game instantly
and yet teachers don’t see why we learn it the best way by playing our fav video games once they realize this gigantic elephant in the room they’ll hopefully begin teaching us stuff to us that way. As i said i hope so but not so sure wheter they change their mindsets.
Love your video because it is well researched! <3
Everything is nice, and dandy, until some weirdo in the voice chat starts speaking Russian, or Spanish.
Be seeing more of you at Sean Cannell’s (ThinkMedia) YouTube 1K Challenge! <3
I totally agree! When I started playing Minecraft, I saw, that if I’m going to do something I like, I will learn English way better, than at school. Then I started watching youtube, where I learnt English, and then practised while playing online games. Now I win in (almost 😀 ) every English competition in our school. I think social apps (for example instagram) is something like gaming when it comes to learning English, or idk how my classmates (girls) are learning English that well.
