Great video Kevin! Is it possible to keep the table from expanding when people enter text? I followed ALL the steps in your video AND additionally went to Layout/ Table properties/ Row tab/unchecked the "Allow row to break across pages" box, AND under the Table Tab/Clicked Properties/ unchecked "Automatically resize to fit contents" box. Neither of these resolved the issue. the tables keep expanding. Can the number of characters in a content control box be limited? If so how?
Thank you, Kevin! keep making these awesome videos!

How do you change the font size of the "click or tap here to enter text" prompt info? Can you apply a style to the "prompt" text without changing what the user inputs (rich text)?

I’m developing a survey on MS Forms and my question is How do I develop drop downs for a question that has three scales titled:

    Importance,
    Expected at Entry
    Relationship to Job Performance

There are many different options in how to evaluate the Importance scale, Expected at Entry scale and under Relationship to Job Performance which I have to include under each scale for each question in the survey.

Is there is a tutorial you can refer me to I would be very thankful. I’ve watch how to create a simple drop downs, but not what I’m looking for. Please help. Thank you.

Hi Kevin 🙂 Thanks so much for your REALLY informative and easy-to-understand instructions! I’m a newbie to form-making, and am having a few problems…hope you can help. I’ve created a form using word & text boxes, then added various fields per your guidelines. But, during the practice run, the text box outline appears each place I want to fill in data, even though I have deleted the text box outline option. This doesn’t happen when you are filling the form on your vid. Can you please help? AND the cursor does not automatically move to the next question, it moves 2/3 questions down the page…. Huge thanks

So I have a bunch of users that range from no skill in IT to even less – I’ve made a form like this already, but then they need to copy and paste the generated text to a proprietary system – but because the document is protected, they can’t select the generated text to copy and paste. How can I achieve this, without having to unprotect the document?

Hey Kevin, Is there a way to put dates in documents in one part and automatically change the rest of the dates in the rest of the dates documents? I am not talking about the footer or header. Just part of the documents I am making.

  34. txreal on November 21, 2021 at 10:15 am

Question: at 3:00 How do you stop the Plain Text Content Control from moving the next field to the right of it?
Ex: First Name field and then to the right Last Name field . And next row
Address and Date. Address below First Name and Date below Last Name. All lined up.
Answer: Put cursor before Last Name, click on the Ruler at the top of page to put a Left Tab (right angle/bracket) Adjust your space/tab as need.
    Do the same for Date.
    That’s it.

I’m on Version 16.54 – When I "Right Click" the menu bar doesn’t show with "Customize The Ribbon". Actually nothing pops up when I right click in the same area you’re clicking on. Any reason for this?

  42. Tripple JJJ on November 21, 2021 at 10:26 am

can you please explain under properties what "Remove content control when contents are edited" mean? tanx a lot

  43. North Florida Poetry Hub on November 21, 2021 at 10:27 am

I created my form, then went to save it as a template and got an error message telling me that I would loose features and "content controls will be converted to static content". I’m running a current version of Microsoft office, or thought I was. I pay GoDaddy tons of money to use the Microsoft Office suite every month… Why am I getting this notice saying basically my Word isn’t going to save my special form fields? It’s a waste of time if it doesn’t. I want to send this form out to many different people, who I don’t know what version Word they will be using. I want it to work for everyone. What does this mean for my form if I save it this way? I just double checked my Word and it says I have the latest updates???

  44. Leah Ti on November 21, 2021 at 10:31 am

Would you have any idea why my plain text content button is grayed out? It says click file tab and then click convert but there is nothing that has convert on it. Am I missing something?

    Hello,
Thank you for the tutorial. My question is: how can we edit the form once we have hit restrict editing? 🙂

  47. lebrunj1 on November 21, 2021 at 10:33 am

The restrict editing option, where is that on office 365 for MAC?

3:05 "This is more important if you want to connect your form to a database". Is there an easy way to export the form reponses into an Excel table? (Ideally without Power Automate because I would need a system administrator to approve the installation for me and there aren’t any available on the weekend). Great video. Thank you!
