I disliked lol
I think it is an OK addition. But with the amount of torque coming out of those torque wrenches, it may twist/hit so hard that is will either strip out or break the heads off of some fasteners etc. Plus it will make the smaller, compact impacts not to compact any more. But if that’s all of the cash you have, I can see this being a temp fix.
Now for the driver to wrench bit…
Great tip! Thanks to your vid I just bought the Makita 1/2β sq to 1/4β hex adaptor along with a 33pc 1/4β hex Makita screw and drill bit set to pair with my Milwaukee Mid Torque Gen2. You just saved me $300 from not buying an impact driver and drill!
Gosh how did I ever get this feed I was just looking for that type of accessory but is there one for a 3/8 instead of 1/2 please let me know …I went to the link below only found the 1/2 quick connect
It seems to me that the half inch impact wrench will have a higher torque then the smaller impact driver meant for the bits you show. You will have to visually slow down and stop the half inch impact wrench every time so the screws won’t be over torqued or broken. With the impact driver, for instance from Milwaukee 2505-20 M12 FUEL Installation Drill/Driver the torque is up to 300 in-lbs of max torque. If someone is putting a lot of screws into something then a smaller impact driver would be more efficient. But if someone only has a few screws to put into something and they are aware of how powerful the larger impact wrench you suggest is, then this attachment you recommend would be beneficial.
It is nice but depending on how much your friend intends to use it I’d buy both a driver and a wrench. Just to increase the longevity of the tools.
Thank you for the information
You donβt always have 12 inches to get your driver into the spot you need. Impact drivers turn faster and are compact. Quit being cheap and get the tool you need for the jobs you do.
Does the driver tool get stuck in the attachment
Your room is too dark for tool review. Great video though.
Just ordered a DeWalt 889 (Like it better then the 899) half inch. Think I ordered the GQR halfway through your video π
Don’t impact Wrenches have more Torque on Releasing Bolts rather than on Fastening them?
Man caver tool MCT swapped the 1/4 inch collet wit a 3/8 anvil from the Gen 3 impact Driver and it was so much more powerful than using an adapter.
When u already have both lol
OR, just buy the Bosch "Freak".
Not good for drilling
Or you can buy the I D and buy the 1/4 to 1/2 adapter . Which ever one you prefer.
I almost bought another driver for drill bits and fasteners and screws and so forth. The adapter accessory is ingenious. Thanks a bunch.
Good
Will it hold drill bits? Asking for a friend.
man I wish I found out about this earlier in life haha, I just did a job where I had to remove/reinstall 200 t40 torx deck bolts at a marina to run an electrical line. Most of those t40’s broke loose ok but some were too strong for my Ridgid Octane driver even with an Octane battery. If I had that adapter I might have been able to use my mid torque impact wrench to break those bolts loose. Either that or break the t40 bits haha. Either way it was an extreme pain when a screw wouldn’t come out and I had to skip that board and work around it. Thanks for this great advice, I think I’m going to get one myself!
Even though an impact is SLOWER than a driver, the wrench will definitely sink the 4 inch T40 lag screw faster than a driver will. A lot of swingssets/junglegyms use hundreds of those enourmous T40 lags
I just wanted to add one more comment for others benefit another house fire in lost my husband of 27 years and after sleeping on the ground in a tent for over a year I decided to try and rebuild on the property and found out real quick how much I didn’t know and if any of you have ever walked into Lowe’s or Home Depots or any of the big companies and ask for advice you already know that the first thing they do is direct you to the most expensive thing they can and don’t really tell you nothing except for this is what you want and so that left me high and dry quite often since I have found your site which is very well spoken I now am confident and beginning to build a small little place to call my home again which I have gained from your sights you have three very important factors and your continuous with them number one you check out the product and you put it out there straightforward without trying to drag it into a 3-hour video that tells you about one minute information which a lot of sites do to you make it a point to explain it and detail it as well as review it and you give a price approximate which is a big deal if you’re on very limited income and want to do the right thing with the right tool and with your tips suggestions and the visual demonstrations and honesty I feel completely confident I know exactly what I need when I walk in to the store or start a project for all these qualities above I thank you once more and when I finish I will send you a pic just so you guys can see that you made a difference thank you kindly stay safe & Jesus keep you close
Wow!!!! Mind blown!!! Imma tell all my friends. Thank you for making me sound like a geniusππ
I thought that impact drivers and impact wrenches were different because the percussive stakes go in different directions? The driver strikes into the screw while the wtench strikes in the direction that your are turning e.g. tightening or loosening. Is this correct?
Buy a wrench with an adopter or just buy the Bosch Freak which serves both. π
Great video π
Chingon my friend
I put one of these on an old impact gun. I use it occasionally for odd things at home. Itβs not anything special but itβs versatile enough to justify the few dollars I spent on it. At some point I will probably replace it with a M-12 1/4β drive impact driver.
Bosch freak
Does impact wrench has clutch like driver ? Which shuts engine off when it reaches the threshold ? Thank you
adapter will result in loss of torqgue and will snap fairlysoo
Impact wrench only has rotary impacts. Impact driver has rotary and axial impacts. The axial impact is what keeps the philips screw bits not jumping out of the head.
I need a 1/2" female "square" to a 3/8" female "square" adaptor for impact wrench, know of one??
I actually did this before. main advantage is its overpowered for any driving you throw at it. especially when driving lag bolts. just use quality screws though. because its gonna snap cheap chinese screws.
Please stop saying ‘assessories’. It’s not a word.
Its better the other way around, socket adapter on a impact driver, and for the bigger bolts in a car for example, you just brake them lose first. Good impact drivers have 200nm of torque they can take most of the bolts out and they are MUCH smaller and way less
Just dont see too many ppl with 1/2 guns and no regular impact driver or drill. This is something extra to have in a junk drawer for emergency/versatility but not a real replacement.
And yes I liked this video
Just ordered it from Amazon
I was thinking why do they make so many tools, cant the drill, impact driver/wrench, hammer drill in just one motor, with modular chucks? So if we want to drill or impacting, we just change the chuck.
Hey buddy listen here. I turn my impact drivers into impact wrenches. 1/4 3/8 1/2. Stubby. Extended. Wobble. Top that.
Lol. Thank you for video. Take care.
Definitely a useful video. I totally agree, this is a great video
Nice Les paul!
Hi, this is an excellent adapter, I used it on my 3/8 Bauer and the bit locked up in the adapter! I used pliers to get it out! Idk maybe operator trouble lol, Itβs a sharp adapter I just have bad luck lol,
That adaptor is your typical chinese low quality product.
Can’t watch, the screen keeps jumping π
You are the man!! Why has no one mentioned this before? This adapter all you need is your impact wrench and you already got the driver and typically save $150 or more by not having to buy a second tool good job keep up the good work π
LIKE ADDING PADDLES TO A SPEED BOAT! but the idea is good!
