Modern Farmhouse Kitchen Tour 2021 | Kitchen Design | ZLINE kitchen appliances

In this video, we show off the features our new, “almost” finished farmhouse style kitchen. My wife and I have spent considerable time designing the layout and flow of our kitchen. Whenever we entertain, most people end up being in the kitchen so why not make it a place to enjoy being in!

Special thanks goes to ZLINE Kitchen and Bath (www.zlinekitchen.com) for helping us out with the range, range hood, microwave and dishwasher.

Question of the day: What is the one feature you love about your kitchen?

Where did you get that sink…I am in love.

Hello! I don’t want to question your links. Just making sure that you indeed install the 667 range hood. We had our eye on the 697 (Which is 27.5" deep), while the 667 is 23.5" deep. The 697 is also available in the remote blower.

Are you happy with the 667 with its depth of 23.5" ? Is the blower on 1200 cfm setting loud?

The 697 is not available at the moment but the 667-48 is. I almost wonder if we would be better off with the 667-48 with it’s narrower depth.

What are your thoughts on the range? I do cook a lot and want to see if this range can meet my expectations of functionality.

All those drawers on either side of your range and you put your pots and pans in another room? Seems inconvenient to me, but to each their own.

    Lovely craftsmanship, well done

I never understood the pot filler concept…..yeah you can fill the pot at the stove but you still have to carry the pot full of water to the sink when you’re done….makes no sense

What kind of lighting are you using for the toe kick, is it homerun to a single power switch or add on? I want a similar look for my existing cabinet kicks, but don’t want it to have to be a tear down and integrate project

Have you had any issues with your range?

Hi Ken, well done! I started installing our zline dishwasher yesterday and realized that it has a top edge control panel which seems odd to me from a practicality viewpoint (literally!) Anyway I was about to finish the install by securing the dishwasher with ZERO gap at the top, per Zline instructions (for "streamline design" consideration) and stopped, and thought I should inquire about installing it with a gap to at least partially SEE the panel for status monitoring, etc. At the 05:52:00 of your vid I saw that you installed your unit with a gap. Are you glad you did, or after using the unit for a while realize that visual and manual access to the controls with the door closed is NOT necessary. Thanks! Don

Beautiful kitchen! We have a small kitchen and space is at a premium. With that said, would love to re-create your pot storage idea. Do you have a how-to on that?

Ken, great kitchen and video. I am interested in where you got your toe kick lighting under the cabinets. I think that is my favorite designer touch in your kitchen in addition to the spice drawer next to your 48" range. 1. Could you let me know where I would buy those toe kick lighting. 2. Did you put connect all the toe kick lights on one switch or did you wire two areas (outer kitchen and island)? Did you put the Toe Kick light switch on the side of the island or on the wall. 4. I assume on the toe kick lighting on the kitchen island you just ran the lights on the three sides (not the chair side)? Again, great kitchen design, the Zline Appliance package is very affordable yet looks like a $10,000+ appliance package. Last question, are the walls in your house a smooth/flat texture? I couldn’t tell. I am a fan of smooth textured walls but I haven’t figured out a cost and labor effective way to do smooth walls on new construction? If you know the best way, I would gladly pay you a consulting fee to tell me what to do and how to do it (is it 5/8th rock vs 1/2 inch?, then roll plaster, then sand, then roll, then sand??? I feel like there is an easy way to accomplish smooth (level 3 or 4) without braking the bank in labor costs. Sorry for the long comment. I will gladly pay you for your time and knowledge on the toe kick lighting and smooth wall texture installation and application. Thanks George
