Portable Air Conditioners

    too expensive

  2. ChanceC5 on June 22, 2021 at 12:29 am

Are they all made in China and how long do they last and how cost efficient are they on electricity?

  3. KJ on June 22, 2021 at 12:33 am

Just returned my LG 10k btu portable, she forgot the part that portable units can’t compete with window units with the same rating. If you want a unit that actually cools a ROOM, get a window unit. The portable only seems to cool whats right in front of it. Returned an LG 10k btu portable @ $320 and got a GE 12k btu window unit @ $320, difference is night and day. Portables are literally overrated.

  4. MGL on June 22, 2021 at 12:33 am

Maybe, but here in Europe we don’t have the option to have window units, and if you rent an apartment you can’t drill holes to install a split. It’s portable ac or nothing.

  5. tripjet999 on June 22, 2021 at 12:35 am

If it’s an "air conditioner," of COURSE it’s a "dehumidifier." LOL!

  6. alfredovasquez774 on June 22, 2021 at 12:35 am

I like it how all these units measure a room by its L(length) by W(width) and not LxWxH(height)…. but that’s just me…..

  7. Ross Wilson on June 22, 2021 at 12:39 am

Just a simple sales pitch.  Would be nice to show just how hard it is to vent a casement window, and mention that HD does not sell materials necessary to allow it to be done without looking poorly.

  8. Red Woods on June 22, 2021 at 12:39 am

The most important information is missing. What is the MINIMUM temperature setting on each AC unit!

  9. LittleGojira on June 22, 2021 at 12:40 am

way better than the stoopid window kind.

  10. meyaw Abdulaziz on June 22, 2021 at 12:42 am

#1 reason portable ac returns …..
proof that people are stupid on a mass scale…
what happened to basic education ?
next thing you know ….all you need is a pencil to get into college…
what on earth are they going about…

  13. Couch Surfer on June 22, 2021 at 12:52 am

    What does Dry mode mean

  14. Acap7x on June 22, 2021 at 12:57 am

Does cooling function needs exhaust host installed? I’m kinda new to this stuff..

  15. Captain Kangaroo on June 22, 2021 at 12:59 am

You should have discussed the need to have a plan to eliminate the water that drains out of the A/C. This is no small matter n

She did not mention one of the most needed reasons. If you live in a condo, Apartment, Mobile home development, or any place where your LAND LORD will not allow a WINDOW UNIT this is the answer, Most times know one will know it’s there….Tree/Bush cover is good on ground floors or even up on the third if you have a tree near by. THIS IS THE REASON I GOT ONE FOR MY ENCLOSED PORCH. If my LAND LORD TELLS ME TO REMOVE THE 900.00 DOLLAR UNIT I JUST GOT HE’LL BE WEARING IT. all you can see from the window are two very small vents. SO I am getting ready to install the hoses and also to the lady this thing weighs in at over 100 pounds so it’s not that easy to unbox and set up, I have set up smaller 10,000-12,000 BTU window airs just as easy.

She’s full of shit. I have an Amcor plasma 12000btu. Yes, portable air con units work. But they are fucking noisey. She says you can have a conversation with no worries. That would be the lowest fan setting. Once the compressor kicks in it’s proper noisey. It’s a sales pitch. Yes they do pump out cold air, but they are soooooo noisey. Don’t believe me? Buy one and see!!!!!!!

  19. Savina Zúñiga on June 22, 2021 at 1:05 am

This is great! it’s October now so I won’t be getting one any time soon, but I hope to (God willing) before next summer I get one of these for my studio apartment. Thank you for this video, very informative!

  24. Phil Adelphia on June 22, 2021 at 1:11 am

What about mounting to casement windows

  25. Calvin Nguyen on June 22, 2021 at 1:16 am

I hate portable ac because they are very loud!

  26. John on June 22, 2021 at 1:21 am

I am in Canada and was looking for one with a heat pump for sometime and found one at Costco. The home depot did not have them here, I think you need to do better market research.
