Awesome video! I’d like to use my phone as a backup too that a good idea. Where did you find that mount, was it suction or screwed in? Rather not drill into my dash but worried every wave I hit with a suction one will let loose.

*I’m certain someone corrected you already…when you left jersey city, you went under the Verrazano narrows bridge. The GW is north up the Hudson👍

I super duper loved this! Never listen to the naysayers… They can take their own advice an hug a dock … But how do u learn if not to do it. I just watched the story of a old salt who took your size boat to sea… He made it!!! You can too!! Shoot you did!!!

I’ve been caught at the Great Bridge Locks bridge @15:30 so many times and the Deep Creek Locks bridge too. I grew up close enough to the Deep Creek locks that I could walk through the woods on the east side and fish and crab right near it. You probably saw a little concrete water passageway with a single man brown walk bridge going across it. Could tear up little blue crabs right there

great trip. Looks like you guys had a fun time. But all the stopping and refueling is why I want a trawler. Diesel powered just cruise through the night.

So I’m buying a 30’ Catilina sailboat, it’s in the Merrimack mass, I want to take it down the intercostal. Any pointers on how to get around RI is there a canal or river I can sneak through. Note I will be going under motor as I need to learn to sail. Any help would be appreciated

  23. Charles Waynewright on December 24, 2021 at 1:36 pm

I wish he had did some helpful fuel consumption data there are lots of boats out there with those worthless ass weak ass Chevy engines that do nothing but suck fuel if they got to use a gasoline engine Ford beats them all in fuel mileage 4 cylinder 302 351w or 460 even the Ford leaman diesel is getting popular had a winnebago 454 it got 4.5 mpg or 4.5 gallons per minute if you were thinking about starting it up

  24. Mike Hunt on December 24, 2021 at 1:39 pm

I’m curious what the price difference in the fuel bill would have been with the same boat equipped with diesels instead of gasoline engines

  25. Joshua Espinoza on December 24, 2021 at 1:44 pm

Very beautiful trip. Good for you both.

  26. Nc Fancher on December 24, 2021 at 1:45 pm

Very cool video! I live about 5 minutes from the great bridge locks in Virginia. Always herd the ICW goes to FL but really neat to see the journey from north to south. Beautiful places along the way!

  38. johncartelli on December 24, 2021 at 1:55 pm

a bad connection at that wire in the connector…probably a loosened screw or some corrosion making it draw a higher amperage i see it all the time at work. check those regularly

  39. amy provencher on December 24, 2021 at 1:57 pm

Such a great video! I live north of Boston and totally hear ya about dock space being way more plentiful down south, lol looks like you got to check out some great spots. Can’t wait to watch the Bimini one next ☀️👍

  40. M1911jln on December 24, 2021 at 1:58 pm

Dude, please learn what the term "battleship" means. It doesn’t apply to any naval vessel. The US Navy hasn’t built a battleship since WWII and has not battleships in service. The first ship that you called a "battleship" was, in fact, an aircraft carrier. The ships you saw in Norfolk weren’t battleships either, they were destroyers (most likely) or cruisers (less likely, as the US Navy only has a few cruisers in service).

Please, these terms mean something. Use them correctly.

    Great video…fyi, it’s NOT "intercoastal",it’s "intracoastal"…somebody probably already said, but I’m not reading a 1000 comments to find out…lol

  43. Bit Squirrel on December 24, 2021 at 2:03 pm

Navy doesn’t use battleships anymore buddy…It was a carrier.
