RV Accessories | MUST-HAVE items for RV Beginners (2020)

In this video, I show you exactly what you need to buy when purchasing a new RV for the first time in 2020. This can be an overwhelming task and it’s my goal to give you enough information that you can walk through it stress free. We are going to break down the accessories into 3 main categories- Water, Sewer & Electric. I will give you 3-4 RV accessories to buy within each category. At the end of the video, I show you how much you can expect to spend on your first shopping trip for RV accessories. It can vary depending on if your new camper has a 30 amp or 50 amp power system. Great beginner video! Excellent production value with nice audio and well articulated. 👍 We need to check out that hose. I hate our current house. 😀 Subscribed and fully watched. (And, more dad jokes please.) 😆

  2. Tracy Stout Behunin on October 19, 2021 at 7:32 am

Thanks for this great advice! We are picking our Rv up on Thursday!! I like the list u made and including the cost. We will look into your amazon list. Thanks!

  3. nomadic hippie on October 19, 2021 at 7:32 am

  4. Wolfpackflt670 on October 19, 2021 at 7:32 am

You just called an RV an investment………I would hate to see your investment accounts.

  5. How To RV on October 19, 2021 at 7:33 am

Great information. These items were definitely something that we didn’t put much thought into while we were looking and purchasing our first RV. Anyone watching, going through the links to amazon is a much more cost effective way to go.

  6. Dr. Brown on October 19, 2021 at 7:37 am

The best way to deal with the sewage is to pull off to a side road pull over open the shout and drive around lmao its compost saves the hose kit only need the gloves and rv toilet paper

  7. Kerry Ware on October 19, 2021 at 7:37 am

Don’t buy anything at the camping store! Everything you need you can get at some other store or online from Amazon or one of the other online stores much much much cheaper!

  8. Wilsons On Wheels on October 19, 2021 at 7:38 am

This list is spot on 👍

  9. Robert Wilbanks on October 19, 2021 at 7:39 am

Not just surge protector but EMS, electrical management system. More expensive but worth it.

  10. rsbbs101 on October 19, 2021 at 7:39 am

I know this was made 1 1/2 years ago… but one other thing that should be listed and initially picked up is a designated water hose specifically for flushing the black tank. DO NOT use the potable/drinking water hose for this!!! Figured I’d just throw that out there.

I guess I need to figure out how many amps I have

  18. Shelley Ellis on October 19, 2021 at 7:47 am

Can someone tell me how to get the amazon list? I don’t see a link….

  19. Allen Chamberlain on October 19, 2021 at 7:47 am

No on the rv toilet paper, I’ve done tests on rv toilet paper and septic safe, Scotts rv toilet paper doesn’t break down, don’t buy it. No name toilet paper at Wal-Mart is 99 cents for 4 rolls breaks down very good and is soft.
Don’t waste your money on rv toilet paper

  20. grnsgottaM on October 19, 2021 at 7:48 am

I’d also add a 30 to 15 amp converter, to plug into home power.

  21. IaMdArKsIEd1337 on October 19, 2021 at 7:48 am

Been doing a ton of research as i am picking up my new camper later this week. This video was great thanks!

  22. Butch Patterson on October 19, 2021 at 7:48 am

If your coach is 50 amp and you have to use a 30 amp adapter to to the pedestal will the 50 amp surge protector still work ?

  23. David Tennant on October 19, 2021 at 7:52 am

Excellent video- great information, straight to the point, and I like that you included the estimated costs.

  25. Meant 2 Be RVing on October 19, 2021 at 7:53 am

Great video. Very smart things to get and I like how you say to get before you walk out the store. Our surge protector just saved us!

  26. Painful or what? on October 19, 2021 at 7:54 am

Don’t have a camper, probably never will, and I have no idea why this was recommended to me but it’s a great programme with great delivery. Thanks.

  27. Jurgen's Journeys on October 19, 2021 at 7:55 am

This is good info. We were clueless when we bought our first one, and the dealer just wanted to get us out of the dealership asap so he could handle his next RV sale. We didn’t have YouTube back then and just learned by watching others in the campgrounds. The RV TP is no issue with me, because the censors are worthless anyway, and our favorite household TP works just fine. I could use an additional power cord at home, instead of the construction quality extension cord, but that’s a lot of money for something I have NEVER actually needed in 30 years of RVing. Of course my trailers have never been over 25ft long. Great video. I like the way you handled the subject so systematically and thoroughly. Well thought out and delivered. Thanks !!!

  28. Larry Clark on October 19, 2021 at 7:57 am

    Thank You!!

  29. Bill Kordis on October 19, 2021 at 7:58 am

Without a pressure regulator, all you are doing is controlling the flow. As soon as the water stops flowing from a faucet the pressure equalizes to whatever the supply is. The adjustable type is a must.

  30. Find Us Camping on October 19, 2021 at 8:01 am

Surge Protector is the #1 thing anything RV’ers should have. We installed an inline protector so we dont have to worry about having it stolen or leaving it somewhere.

  31. Fed Guy on October 19, 2021 at 8:01 am

I bought a new 30amp GD Imagine coach. We decided to get a Hughes Autoformer voltage booster with serge protection. It is expensive but also protects against under voltage

  32. Rafael Arteaga on October 19, 2021 at 8:04 am

What if the power outlet doesn’t work the surge says it’s bad. What do you do then?

  33. Leah Janowiak on October 19, 2021 at 8:04 am

Taken notes very helpful thank you

  34. RV kidz TV on October 19, 2021 at 8:09 am

  40. cavewoman3rd on October 19, 2021 at 8:20 am

I know campers are equipped with all the amenities of home, but I choose not to use my systems. I take advantage of the facilities where I camp. Saves me lots of time in preparation and check out time. Personal choice.

  41. Our Epic RV Adventure on October 19, 2021 at 8:21 am
