I purchased a refurb Lenovo from Amazon. It had the original owners info on it, was full of dirt, 3 months in had an error that couldn’t be repaired. I had tech bill, and was advised not to return to this company, they did not communicate with me, and my info could not be wiped. I didn’t want to put my personal info at risk. Totally a rip off. and NO REFUND! DO NOT BY FROM AMAZON!

I agree, buying refurbished from Dell has always been a plus for me….You do get more for your money on refurbished/off-lease.

I bought a Dell OptiPlex 7010 refurb. mini tower computer in 2018. I got everything that I wanted on it and it has been great! It is like a baby tank…I love it!

Yes, buying a used Dell does make a lot of sense. The best part about Dell is that the drivers are almost always going to be available no matter how old the system is. If you buy a more generic system, you can never be sure of support later on. I almost always by Dell.

Buying a low end refurb and upgrading yourself is your best bet. Not sure about amazon but ebay, Craigslist, etc are good options. Optiplex with i7, 500GB rust drive and 8GB RAM for $100 or less all day. Invest around $80 in an SSD and RAM upgrade and you got a screaming fast daily driver for less than $200. Side note: I don’t know anyone personally who "buys" windows. Put Linux on it and it will be virus free and last forever.
