While you are at it why not include more bells & whistles? The background music is not loud enough then again I guess this comes as extra 😅

I bought an apple laptop about 4-5 years ago and I was hugely disappointed as it stopped working last year . I’m needing a new laptop to help with my game capturing that is powerful to handle it ❤️ What would you suggest ? I don’t want to be spending silly money again on a laptop and just stops working

Decent video, important topic. A little too obvious he’s reading a teleprompter from the starts and stops, could use better cadence. Still overall decent.

Hi your gaming laptop in the video says 3060 but the link in description is for 3050 so which one is it?

Buy a used Thinkpad off eBay. That is the best budget laptop of any year

Dude, Thank You PCMag and THANK YOU Zackery especially for promoting affordable laptops (that also work for school) with what I honestly think is the Perfect intro just calling it out. I ironically was just reading Engadgets college laptop pics for this year and Its so frustrating that they continue to play to upper class families suggesting every year high priced laptops as the best for students. My friend use to teach and now tutors for students with financial troubles in not so privileged school districts. These families can not afford even a $100 laptop. I bought one for college classes online durring the isolation period last year for $250 and it worked just fine for online classes and worked fine for word processing. I ended up giving it away to a family in need of a computer for their kids after i was done using it. Thanks Again Zackery. Ill be looking up more of your videos after seeing this one. Keep up the honesty like in this review and saying what needs to be said.

Just tap into a wave of company rollouts and get their old stuff. As Intel has been selling 14nm i5’s from 2015-2021, a 2015 model is usually as good as a 2021 one and still more than enough for a student needing long battery life. Dell is great for self repair, Apple for display tech and overall refinement. So best bets are ex company Dell Latitudes or a MacBook Pro 2015. Both are around 250 bucks, beating any budget option in this video.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5i 14 has only 4GB ram which makes it totally useless for even web browsing with more than 3 tabs open

  28. TechTuck on March 7, 2023 at 6:21 am

This is nowhere near budget friendly.

  29. Hamzah Adam on March 7, 2023 at 6:21 am

LOL anybody with more than 2 braincells isn’t going to pay $480 for a laptop that can’t do anything

  30. Jan Herling on March 7, 2023 at 6:21 am

Had to stop watching because of the background noise.

  31. Al on March 7, 2023 at 6:23 am

Me watching this on a $150 chromebook. It’s ok. But the display is trash. Any recommendations for a laptop with a decent screen that won’t break the bank?

  35. CUYxJrPlays on March 7, 2023 at 6:30 am

Chrome books last long that’s why u buy them for that reason not for the power or ram or quality they are meant to get abused and have greasy fingers and crumbs on them lol and used in schools.

  36. Joe Lover on March 7, 2023 at 6:30 am

Great lifesaver but I feel like the music drowns your description, not that the music is bad I just couldn’t focus on your description, I usually just listen to videos while walking or doing something else.

  37. Jesse Sanchez on March 7, 2023 at 6:31 am

Wallet friendly or inexpensive. Budget friendly is not a gaming laptop

  38. Aman Gurung on March 7, 2023 at 6:34 am

    Wait… Doesn’t budget mean £150 to £250 ???

  39. Ali Al-Qasim on March 7, 2023 at 6:34 am

Macbooks become kinda affordable these days with macbook air line!

  40. jimmydacricket on March 7, 2023 at 6:35 am

awesome vid, I have the gaming rig at home so for me laptops are just a portable web browser with a bigger screen, cheap lightweight machine is all I’m after for content consumption while travelling, or presenting a powerpoint occasionally

  41. Josh A on March 7, 2023 at 6:37 am

just throw a 386 clone in a laptop, 256MB ram, shitass linux distro, and you got a great budget laptop

  42. Matthew Minard on March 7, 2023 at 6:37 am

Jesus Christ $500 starting price is not a friggin budget laptop.
