The future of shopping: what's in store?
The pandemic has upended the way people buy—online retail has soared as high-street shops and malls close. Brands are now racing to exploit one of the most important weapons in the battle for buyers: their customers’ data.

Not everything can be bought online for me because some thing’s I need to shop for in person. Shopping online is great because some people don’t want to leave their homes anymore nor do they want to waste money on petrol. This is the reality of life & a lot of people like it this way.
1,.. .
It a superb watch. Future of customer journey and it’s impact on the retail effort sand might provide you a hint on how it should be in terms of their DBM, marketing efforts and customization of their business approach. Superb. great learning tool.
Bently down all europ
I’m gonna be taking Economics at A-Level, i’m glad I find these videos interesting
great
Hi
Am I too old for The Economist or are those cuts just too fast?
All these efforts in big data and AI just to scam consumers into buying more useless stuff. Well done capitalism 🙂
Its so easy to be negative. I don’t see any wrong with companies study high level preferences, nothing secret. Love the engagement and personalized options more relevant to me. Its awesome! Welcome 21century!
Great insights on the rise of e-commerce business.
Based in China. Here we have great e-commerce however it also causes many retailer stores to shut down. I do enjoy the convenience of e-commerce but sometimes we got fooled by pics of beautiful models and the quality of clothes is a big issue. This was when I realized the importance of retailer stores where I could touch and feel the material and see if it fits me. However many of them did not survive after the pandemic. So it is a dilemma now.
no, i don’t get a buzz or a little tingle of excitement from buying something.
i get that tingle and excitement from making something instead of buying it. from having a peaceful day, not having to worry about propaganda flooding my feed again. not having to see the nwo narrative unfolding like a rafflesia arnoldii blossom.
After watching your video I appreciate your point of view.
We are a large e-commerce shopping platform.
Looking forward to in-depth exchanges and cooperation with you.
eating and toileting should also be made online.😜
Excellent video. Thank you!
What a dystopian world. Brand owned by a bunch of blind CEOs, algorithms entering always deeper in our mind and social media pushing us always farer for material consumption. We are not happier with this frenetic purchasing scheme but poorer and more vulnerable to the system. Capitalism if the perfect trap, designed by humans to catch humans.
People will ask themselves in the near future ‘why are there a lot fewer jobs in the Service Industry and almost no small businesses’?
Is it too hard to understand that supporting Amazon and shopping Online drives more nails into the coffins of these local businesses?
One action needed to keep my business alive is to open and sell online as well as at store!
The mainland Chinese just have no choice to "share" their data anyway……
great points here. It will interesting to see how the smaller to medium size retailers begin to adapt once everything is opening up!
WAS THIS A NIKE AD?
Who is buying all this unnecessary stuff 🤔 that’s a better story
My trading journey was a matriculation of highs and lows, literally just like the market. you up, you down. Now I’m constantly up

Ok, China is the world leader in e-commerce. Isn’t it obvious that there is a correlation between population size and total e-commerce sales? What about e-commerce sales per capita? That would be much more meaningful!
If you use statistics, then please use them properly!
My teacher asked us to relate this video to the content we learned in economics a level.. I have no idea how to do it !! Can anyone please help ?
Unbelievable data mining
economist evolves only in China amd US
Please tell me what is the book that admin mentioned in the video about ”personal customer data” that amazon wrote mentioned at 7’05 to 7’15 minutes. Thank you very much
Amazing! Cheers
Great video. but OH MY GAWD we don’t need any more stuff people! Minimalism is the only sustainable solution that would allow us to share this planet with all the people on it and not decimate the earth’s natural resources. Ditch the global supply chains. Go more local. And only buy what you truly need and can’t repair.
The climate is going to h@ll in a handbasket. Just imagine countries with more than a billion people are becoming online consumers. More products means, more factories means more Co2. lol welcome to your nightmare.

Thank you for this informative piece. Super interesting developments 😃
A merchant shall hardly keep himself from doing wrong; and an huckster shall not be freed from sin. Many have sinned for a small matter; and he that seeketh for abundance will turn his eyes away. As a nail sticketh fast between the joinings of the stones; so doth sin stick close between buying and selling
Can buy baba share?
I miss old days when mall is awesome
Kk
Random question. Can anyone tell me the name of the song they’re playing in the background please?
I don’t want surveillance stores. Benefits are disproportionately for big tech NOT HUMAN CUSTOMERS.
Website will look more like stores and Stores will look like websites
Why to buy anything if we wont go anywhere. We should all stop feeding big companies
bruh
Not sure about the shopping "dopamine hit", I only get a cringy feeling in my stomach from spending. I must be missing out
Less human interactions eventually lead to lower birthrates.
Just subbed, about to check out some of your other videos!!! I think that you deserve way more views. Did you ever look into using promosm?? I think it would really help you grow your channel.
Quality is a real problem. Buying on line is over rated. I want to see, touch the item before I lay down my money.
with online shopping there is a 100% increase in waste. half of the things i buy online end up in the trash can.
Consumer to manufacturer – destroyer of companies/brands. "That’s really cutting out even the brands. So the factories start dealing directly with consumers". No one is talking about this. This is monumental.
