The Mobile Revolution: How Cell Phones CHANGED our Lives Forever | Business Documentary From 2014

The mobile phone entered our lives and changed everything. In just a few decades, we left behind a stationary, slow world where people had to stay in certain places and use clumsy, fixed devices to communicate with the world around them. The move into the completely mobile and constantly connected world that we all take for granted happened at breakneck speed. But how did this transformation come about?

Just use the technology to the best of your abilities and everything will work out all right, before all this technology and before cell phones whenever somebody was lost nobody could find you, now they can just find you in a heartbeat by tracking you tracking your digital breadcrumbs and that’s a good thing because what if you’re hurt or what if you’re missing what if you are abducted, all this technology can help you if you use it properly.

Great documentary! Just want to point out that there’s another way cell phone change people’s lives. In this film these cell phone users are all consumers. But in China, smart phone already become a powerful tool that local entrepreneurs used to promote and sale their products to buyers all over the country. For example, in US, tiktok is only a playground for youngsters to communicte and share funny videos. In China, a farm girl in isolated ruaral area used it to show urban people her unique life style, and meanwhile sale her green farm products with much higher price.

Nobody ever said when the Atari came out, we are addicted to our Atari game, the psychologist and crazy Siri call rehab centers for so-called cell phone addiction is ridiculous and we don’t even need them but we do need places for alcohol addiction, drug addiction and things like that whoever heard of Internet addiction? Just enjoy the technology why don’t you! And just be careful how you use it if we all use it for good then great things will come of it.

Honestly, from the perspective of someone who has vision impaired, it’s opened up quite a bit of communication. There were pieces of equipment that I’ve needed that cost thousands of dollars that I can get by with with just an iPhone. Color identifiers, OCR technology, they’ve been more useful than a hindrance to communication. I don’t get to get out much. I have mobility issues, so while everyone was going nuts in 2021 because they couldn’t physically see their friends, I was cool. Most of my friends live out of state so it’s really not a change. I see what they mean, but from the perspective of someone with a disability it just is more useful

Happily much of rural Australia is sparsely populated and telecoms couldn’t make profit here. Never had coverage yet, and doubt I ever will – good.

I think Cell phones have improved our lives far more then damage it. But it cant denied the smartphone was one item that changed mankind for history and as big of a way as taming horses conquering fire and vehicles.

Not a single mention of the word pornography, the greatest online addiction of them all. Fascinatingly ironic.

The human brain is not developed enough to handle smartphones. Modern humans in particular are incapable of regulating their own behavior. We have regressed as a species as a result of the loss of natural predators.

  36. Sammy G. on October 30, 2021 at 8:52 am

Everywhere I look, everywhere I go, about 95 percent of people are sitting on some surface somewhere with their heads, eyes, nose, ears and mouth and their necks angled downward buried in a 45 degree position towards their cell phone screen in their technologically advanced device. The mobile phone is by far one of the biggest antisocial enabling gadgets ever. Example:
Me: "Good morning, my name is Sam."
Other person: (Entranced by cell phone)
    Me: "You from around here?"
Other person: (Entranced by cell phone)…
And that’s the sad reality of it. It’s going to get worse.

It’s how you use your cell phone and balance it with family and friends cell phones aren’t bad

Machines are destroying human interaction. This is a chronic problem. This leads to cognitive breakdown. People are thinking about yesterday or tomorrow, but are not present to this moment.

  42. philip mc donagh on October 30, 2021 at 9:00 am

Nobody seems to care, but the powers that be can use them to track your every movement, conversation, text and God knows what else. You can run but you cant hide, well you could leave your phone at home could hide then. A few years time we will be coned into been microchip-ed because of all the befits it will bring. And people will fall for it as usual. Smart phones are for smart people, If there was any smart people around there would be no smart phones.

And thanks to the digital age now it’s the new way for the governments of all countries to track people.. China has started that surveillance system not to mention the behavioral School and credit score which Now American the whole world is now adopting.. I tell people the time don’t depend on technology will control you at the end.. not to mention you lose your freedom we are losing our freedom now because of the surveillance state.. not to mention date the data they can get from us..

  48. Richard Reynolds on October 30, 2021 at 9:04 am

It’s ironic, we are watching this video on a cell phone. Not all that many years ago people were more social, ie., in person, face to face, physical contact. I very much miss the days when you would actually go and visit family and friends. Today we make a cell call and go about our business. We have become a global self absorbed anti social animal. Look around, everywhere you look people have a phone in their hand or on their person, texting, talking. One thing I notice is no kids outside playing, kids are indoors talking, texting, on the computer or watching television. The cell phone, computer and television has been both a blessing and a curse. Every year tens of thousands of people are killed because of misused cell phones, ie., traffic collisions, pedestrian fatalities. Life, simple life, face to face communication, for the most part, is gone forever
