Top 10 Wii U Games of All Time (That Are Not on Switch)

Top 10 Wii U Games of All Time (That Are Not on Switch)

From The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD to Splatoon, the Wii U has a lot of games that are still worth playing. Let’s take a look at the top 10 Wii U games!

Among standouts like The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD and Super Mario Maker, the Wii U has lesser known gems such as Affordable Space Adventures and NES Remix Pack. While a lot of games like MArio Kart 8 got ported to Switch, there is still plenty of reasons to pick up a Wii U today, including Xenoblade Chronicles X, a game that has never left the console. This list doesn’t include virtual console or Wii games, as that would be a separate list entirely!

    Paper Mario: Color Splash!!!!

  2. Vulpes Arctos on June 3, 2022 at 10:09 pm

I actually really enjoyed Star Fox Zero! Just replayed it a couple of months ago and had a blast. The control scheme is a bit… Much, but there’s always an option to give the game pad to your friend and play co-op.

  3. AJ R on June 3, 2022 at 10:10 pm

I just want wooly world on switch

  4. DaRkLoRd1061 on June 3, 2022 at 10:11 pm

Was a really good version of tekken tag tournament 2 on wii u as well, with a mode with nintendo power ups and costumes.

  5. Squid girl on June 3, 2022 at 10:12 pm

Wind waker is possibly my favorite game of all time

  6. 59 BlackMarch on June 3, 2022 at 10:15 pm

I own Yoshi Wooly World, XCX, and the Zelda ports for WiiU, and I would buy them DAY 1 if ported to switch.

  7. Policlight Torres on June 3, 2022 at 10:15 pm

    where is DK Tropical freeze

  8. JOSE VICENTE ANDRADE on June 3, 2022 at 10:16 pm

  9. Dan L. on June 3, 2022 at 10:16 pm

Nintendoland made my place the fun destination and it was played whenever friends or family visited. I have so many hilarious and happy memories playing those group games that were only possible with the secondary screen and I’m waiting for Nintendo to recapture the magic of that game on the Switch. I was hopeful for 1 2 Switch- but it’s not the same.

  10. Yinz Play Gaming on June 3, 2022 at 10:18 pm

Switch owners think all ported titles are definitive on switch.

  11. Steven Lobo on June 3, 2022 at 10:18 pm

I love my WiiU until today. Always loved it. It has still some amazing exclusive content, that may not be relevant to many people, but there are still a few gems that make the WiiU relevant to me (like Nintendo Land). I also use it to play GameCube and Wii games, and even DS and SNES games sometimes.

  12. sharebear421 on June 3, 2022 at 10:20 pm

    Xenoblade X for sure

  13. Hugo D. Ramirez on June 3, 2022 at 10:20 pm

No love for star Fox zero…I’m glad I took the time to learn the control scheme and it is probably my favorite of the series….such an underrated gem than in upcoming years will be praise

  14. PE Prozent on June 3, 2022 at 10:24 pm

The Top 2 are clearly the two Call of Duty games since only the Wii U offers Wiimote support.
The industry has accepted AimAssist as a standard, even in tournaments. It is like playing a racing game with steering assist. Pathetic. The Wiimote was the perfect solution for console gaming. And yes, you could play with AimAssist via Wiimote, but I don’t (I even turn it off in N64 games) and in many modern shooters you cannot turn it off completely if you aim with Thumbsticks (e.g. in CoD Ghosts).

  15. Nintendude on June 3, 2022 at 10:25 pm

    Thanks for the list.

  16. Federico Lamas on June 3, 2022 at 10:27 pm

Xenoblade Chronicles X needs to get a Switch port next year. That game has to be accessible toa bigger audience, it’s a masterpiece that needs a bit of refining in certain areas like done physics, but it’s huge and amazing and runs superbly.
Hope we get wind waker and twilight princess hd this year as well.

  17. Ryan Heemann on June 3, 2022 at 10:27 pm

With BotW2s delay into 2023, I think Nintendo could announce a re-release of Wind Waker HD and/or Twilight Princess HD, which would really screw up this list.

  18. Mark on June 3, 2022 at 10:28 pm

Paper Mario Color Splash, Game and Wario, and Star Fox Zero!

  19. what on June 3, 2022 at 10:28 pm

  20. IGS - Impact Game Station on June 3, 2022 at 10:29 pm

You forgot the best game on Wii U, Devil’s Third. And yes, I’m being genuine. It’s a genuine good game!

  21. Khaos on June 3, 2022 at 10:29 pm

  22. The Paper on June 3, 2022 at 10:30 pm

    Primarily for xenoblade x

  23. TheShachattack13 on June 3, 2022 at 10:30 pm

Botw should always be regarded as a Wii U game that was ported to the switch

    0:48 Affordable Space Adventures

  27. Schimnesthai on June 3, 2022 at 10:38 pm

  28. CV Anims on June 3, 2022 at 10:42 pm

1,000 hours of my Wii U were easily just from BotW and MK8.

  29. JustJulyo on June 3, 2022 at 10:43 pm

Xenoblade Chronicles X the only Xenoblade game not in the Switch library

  30. maybetoby on June 3, 2022 at 10:45 pm

I skipped the Wii U. Just about every game I would’ve bought for that system (except Star Fox Zero) have been ported to the Switch.

  31. Jeff Soto on June 3, 2022 at 10:47 pm

Serious question. Is BOTW worth gettin for the Wii U? Asking because I really wanna try the game out, but have no plans at all to get Switch for it, or any other Nintendo hardware to be honest.

  32. Luke on June 3, 2022 at 10:48 pm

Xenoblade X is so drastically different from the main series. I really hope they port it over so people can experience it! I also really want to give it another go!

  33. Jesus Pernia on June 3, 2022 at 10:51 pm

Since it’s probably cheap now you can probably get one and mod the hell out of it.

  34. Remigiusz Kazimierczyk on June 3, 2022 at 10:52 pm

    I always prefered Wii U over Switch…

  35. DaRkLoRd1061 on June 3, 2022 at 10:53 pm

Also bayonetta 2 and tropical freeze are some of the best wii u games. They have been ported but still 10/10 games.

  36. Igor Costa on June 3, 2022 at 10:55 pm

    Where is BOTW?

  37. Ty WashDaddy on June 3, 2022 at 10:56 pm

Number 1 for me is Xenoblade Chronicles X. A must play game

  38. TheAlexGamez 🇺🇦 on June 3, 2022 at 10:56 pm

Xenoblade Chronicles X is my favourite Wii U game, shame that it has not received a port already. It really deserves a second chance!

  39. Brantley Thompson on June 3, 2022 at 10:57 pm

Shouldn’t Breath of the Wild be the #1 Wii U game? I mean… it is a Wii U game LOL

  40. snorlax on June 3, 2022 at 10:57 pm

Great rub it in to my non wii owning face now wont you

  41. Indy Reno on June 3, 2022 at 10:58 pm

I think they should cancel all Nintendo Switch remakes of Wii U video games, mainly because it’s harming the legacy of Nintendo video game production and because the remakes are released too soon, it is also because it would make focusing on producing main series canon games in the future much easier, this is very similar to how many animated direct-to-video follow-ups eventually got cancelled since 2006.

  43. Koko the clown 🤡 on June 3, 2022 at 11:00 pm

While I believe the Wii U was underrated it sure show how much it was a flawed console from the beginning the useless tablet the gimmick of being basically an HD Wii the ads god the ads the lack of support in my eyes the Switch easily buried the U and alongside it the legacy once the e-shop closes I’ll be a useless console to own and if u wanna moded u have to own a game from the virtual console if not then good luck u can still play Wii games on HD but they’re cables for that now so it’s sorta odd owning a Wii U all the hits have been ported aside from others but let’s be honest here they’ll eventually get ported and others well are forgettable as the console

  44. DaRkLoRd1061 on June 3, 2022 at 11:01 pm

I mean still have breath of the wild on wii u. Which is arguably one of the best games of all time.

  45. Faisal the electric fist on June 3, 2022 at 11:01 pm

Wii u is a better console to play the games cuz 2 screens + better comfortability

  46. PLightstar on June 3, 2022 at 11:04 pm

The Wii u was miss managed by the marketing department. It’s still a great console. Mines in no danger of being boxed up on storage. And sits pride of place next to ps5 and Xbox series x

  47. Yippiekayo Romeo on June 3, 2022 at 11:05 pm

    Starfox Zero 🙁

  48. Armir Gashi on June 3, 2022 at 11:05 pm
