Crap.
You started on a good path and you got on the wrong track half way down: after point 12, just review once more the games mentioned.
Is it just me, but the more technology expands, the lower game quality it produces. I mean, nowadays games are full of pixel-type that I’m not fond of, there are Japanese-indies that I despite and many cartoon-graphic games that I do not appreciate at all.
I can only remember back in the 90′ what Prince of Persia 2D was like a dream come true (according to that time’s development). Now, we have the techniques and what it takes, in almost all cases we have the finance, but we rather make some rubbish cartoon/pixelate/indie show just to sell as many as possible to kids that haven’t met up with Diablo or Red Dead Redemption somehow.
And the more I’m taking part of those "best of" / "top x10x" or / "the best game of 2022" I’m beginning to have doughs regarding one’s judgement.

The thing that people don’t know about The Forest is how much you can actually interact with the cannibals and how much what you do and how you do it affects them. It’s such a good game
