Whats the difference between a 256gb ssd storage and a 1 Tb fusion drive?
I was on a MacBook Air and I’m so happy I upgraded to the iMac for my studio I got the Apple – 21.5" iMac® – Intel Core i5 (2.3GHz) – 8GB Memory – 1TB Hard Drive – Silver. I’m going to up grade the memory later but for now it’s amazing. Logic Pro x works perfect 👌
So your saying avoid macbook Pro’s before 2019 but the late 2019 and the current ones are the best options?
I do heavy music production, though I like to travel and be moblie with my projects. I wouldn’t mind getting a 2017, I just need processing power to get rid of those damn overload messages.
What is the best recommendation down to the specs and year model of a Macbook Pro? Thanks!
I bought a 2019 13 inch MacBook Pro with touchbar for $1300 and it’s so bad for music production. Now I’m considering buying a new I Mac however it’s burning a hole in my wallet and I’m a student with no money apart from savings for a car 😂
this video and the mac mini 2020 crossed each other.
I don’t know for sure if you can expand the memory (probably yes, it looks like the same machine).
The 2020 model has only double the storage, which makes it a bit cheaper to buy.
"you can go completely crazy till your bank account is empty" (so true lol)
The King wants to fool around a little bit with Garageband. The King will ONLY use the instrument within Garageband. What Mac computer is the minimum for The King?
Thanks
I just wanna record myself I’m using Focusrite. And i just ordered the Mac Pro
Hey man, thanks a lot for your video!
What would be your recommendation for music production use (ableton)?
I would like to be able to use the laptop at least for 5 years and be able to use if needed equipment such as Maschine (Native Instruments), Bass station 2 (Novation), Launchpad or launchkey (Novation).
13in – 32GB ram i7 (4 core)
or
16In – 16GB ram – i9 (8 core)
They both have similar price.
Or should I better consider
16in – 16GB ram – i7 (6 core) – cheaper compared to the other 2 models mentioned before.
Would any of these have issues in long term with the cooling system? Someone mentioned to me that i7 would be a safer option at 16in compared to i9 as previous 15in Mac’s with i9 could have issues after 3 years due to their cooling system…
Thanks in advance for your time! ☺
lol buy a mac guys your not going anywhere in the world with exe files lol;
what do you think about the new 13” macbook pro with the i5 2,0? do u think it has the same power as the 16” i7 basemodel?
I couldn’t disagree more about the imac.
You should NOT buy the i9 Cpu as it’s just way too much for 90% of the producers. Better go with the i7, or even the i5 3.3Ghz 10th gen.
And do NOT choose for the 16GB Ram, Who the hell is gonna pay an extra €250 for 8gb extra ram… Just go for the 8GB’s and upgrade yourself as it’s the easiest thing to do with the 27" imac.
Wich one is the Best for music profuction My friend????
The only choice in my opinion is the 2018 Mac Mini, 6 core i7. You don’t need a full TB of memory, 256gb will be fine if you have an external drive for more storage. And 16gb of memory is more than enough to run Logic and even Final Cut at the same time with no hiccups.
90% of the music industry use Logic Pro, and Final Cut is being used more and more in the film industry. For example, the Oscar-winning film PARASITE was edited on Final Cut. My point is that Mac is leading the way in professional multimedia software, and the Mac Mini is the most logical choice in my opinion.
I am a Windows fan normally. Got a Mac for work tried amplitube 5. Work smoother, sounds better etc on a 🍎.
Wat about a 2015 macbook air that good ?
Hi! Macbook pro 2013 i5/8GB/256GB still worth for musiction production?
Goes full gonzo over best audio platform, completely omits audio hardware 😉👍 way to go
Hi. For recording drums 7-8 ch , what MacBook recomanded?thanks
So you just told us all to buy a PC….Thanks! Both my apples look good….That’s it!
You advise not to buy a Mac, but I’m just too hooked on Logic. It’s way too good. I’ve tried all the other options on Windows – ProTools, Cubase, Reaper, Ableton, FL Studio, etc – and I just can’t escape Logic. It works so damn well for me and it’s one of the very few Apple products that actually offers an amazing bang for the buck! I wish I could escape, but I just can’t.
Witch Mac laptop has garage band cheapest one plz guys
I definitely wish I got a Mac that can handle higher CPU usage. I really like to compose and produce by taking a recording I make (typically guitar) and them sending that signal to like 30+ different buses so I can have a bunch of unexpected sounds I can work with. Unfortunately my computer just can’t keep up with what works best for my creative flow. I hate having to think about my CPU usage.
Keep up the good work!
i don’t know but my mac is becoming very slow over the last year and it’s not due to fact that my computer is full of stuff! If i open 2 programs like logic prox and transcribe he starts to pop up that my ram memory is over used … I don’t like that at all. I Movie is also very slow !! i loved that computer but after 5 years now it becomes very slow!
Should I get the macbook air(for school) and Imac 27inch (for music) or should I just get the macbook pro 16inch for both music and school ?
$50k???? That’s Corvette money! Buy a used 2011 Mac Mini i7 ($250), dual SSD’s ($300) Max the ram ($200) now you got a powerhouse for music production at a fraction of the price! BAM!
Do you think the 2013 iMac is a good buy for starting up with producing?
Mac mini then connect it to a 60 inch Samsung screen and thank me later
is your language dutch?
Hey dude ! , I just wanna record music with garageband and don’t wanna spend a bunch of money. Would love to know the oldest one I could get that can still get update ? I used a 2011 macbook years ago and I did a lot with it. Please help me !
Very useful. Keep rocking
Apple’s gonna hate you mate lol~
I have a late 08 MacBook with 4gb of ram it’s in mint condition and aluminum and it works great lol it’s crazy how I run FL and omnisphere and it runs it with no problems..I put a 500gb harddrive in it and that’s it.looks brand new.also got a 2010 late Mac Pro that’s a beast..you think a base model Mac Pro 13” is good enough? If a 08 can run it why can’t a 2020 base model
UPDATE: APPLE FIXED USB 2.0 ISSUE CAUSED BY T2 CHIP IN OS 10.15.6 UPDATE. IF YOUR A MUSIC PRODUCER AND HAVING ISSUES WITH AUDIO INTERFACE GLITCHING, DROPOUTS, ETC. UPDATE YOUR MAC 👍🏼
I am a guitarist. I want to set up my home studio and want to make a video for youtube. I saw things like screen problem, bluetooth problem in my research. Is it a mistake to buy 2020 mac mini?? help me please
I really appreciate you being concise. Definitely got a like and sub from me. Thanks b!
Thank you so much for this video very informative I’m probably going to to get a iMac for logic pro I’m trying to start a home studio for myself and you saved me from buying a Air Mac 😂
this vid is not good
hey dexxter, great vid… what kind of specs would you recommend across the board? ive got an old macbook pro on its way out; also does the soundcard in the machine make a difference or is that all down to my audio interface?
What are your thoughts on using the 2020 MacBook Air with a Core i5 processor for producing with GarageBand and with Logic?
Would a 13" Macbook Pro be good for music production
If your good at making music you can record off anything if your hungry enough for it you can make things happen with what your options are Keep in mind people Tpain made his hits off garage band ..
Like the puns! Haha made it fun
Is the MacBook Air good for live music and music production? I have a 2009 MacBook Pro now. I mainly use Logic Pro X, Ablelton and Keyscape.
Should I Buy A imac 🖥 Desktop For My Home Recording Studio?? Or Should I Go With A imac laptop?? If So What’s The Best One To Buy. I’m
On A Budget I’m Sick My PC Crashing And Freezing 🥶 😅👌🏾And I Jus Sub To Your Channel Keep Up The Excellent Work!!!…
I really really want the new 2020 iMac 27in but I don’t at the same time because of the T2 chip USB 2.0 audio glitch problem. Have you heard any update on that issue yet??
Thanks for the informative video. A couple questions, do you think the 27" iMac with i5 processor is ok for Logic? I know the i9 is great, but a bit out of my budget.
Also, since Apple just announced they are not using Intel chips in the future, do you think it’s a bad idea to buy a new iMac now?
Is the new MacBook Pro good for running Logic Pro x, including plug ins?(the baseline 13 inch)
