Would this run the dometic cfx345 while traveling? Vs cigarette lighter and having it in cab from point a to b? Then I could use the jackery once at camp when the truck is off. Any insight?

What about using a power strip? To change cell phones & GPS

  3. Dave Hendrick on August 27, 2022 at 2:55 am

Wonder how long you can run power with truck off before battery is screwed? I’m thinking a sleep machine if you were camping🤔

  4. tundrav8georgia on August 27, 2022 at 2:57 am

    Tundra feature now

  5. DomAfterDark on August 27, 2022 at 2:57 am

I have Christmas lights plugged into mine right now, does anybody know if I can keep them on while driving?

  6. Alison W on August 27, 2022 at 2:58 am

Thank you ! I am a 60 yr old that has a 2020 Tacoma I have no idea how things work!

  7. ekjugnoo on August 27, 2022 at 3:00 am

Try 5000 BTU Window AC unit.

  8. Jeff Royer on August 27, 2022 at 3:02 am

Should have tried a Skil saw they take a lot of amps to get going

  9. Average Joe on August 27, 2022 at 3:03 am

Anyone ever plugged in a space heater ?

  10. DVT on August 27, 2022 at 3:04 am

My turned off every 20 mins . How do I keep the power outlet on ?

  11. marc britton on August 27, 2022 at 3:05 am

Too bad you only talked about watts, I get it….amps are the biggest hurdle in running that compressor.
If you can’t get the full 15 amps, or even 20 depending on motor plate info…
It cat work regardless of watts ( voltage conversion ) so: wire size ( resistance) amps draw and watts.
You have 1/3 of the math, but good basic overview if you don’t need to know what it CAN do.

  12. Kyeettv on August 27, 2022 at 3:05 am

What about like a hair dryer

  13. Thomas Delaney on August 27, 2022 at 3:05 am

See more of your face than I do of anything you’re describing

  14. Bill Ortloff on August 27, 2022 at 3:06 am

If it quits working, switch doesn’t even light up. Whats wrong? Which one of the thousand fuses is it?

  15. Adam Stackhouse on August 27, 2022 at 3:06 am

The stock power supply is pretty useless. How do you increase the capacity?

  16. Tony Lester on August 27, 2022 at 3:07 am

actually the inverter is under your center console.. you can hear the fan running on it sometimes… but great video…

  17. Alison W on August 27, 2022 at 3:08 am

Example – I didn’t even know I could push bottom twice to turn on electrical but not vehicle ! Rotfl

  18. Brad Lyon on August 27, 2022 at 3:09 am

Why didn’t the compressor work. Just took my Taco camping and couldn’t get a hotplate to work. Have had success with leaf blower and power drill.

  19. The Original Chefboyoboy on August 27, 2022 at 3:11 am

can one swap out and upgrade the power inverter?
and, fwiw, most tools + appliances should have their wattage on a label somewhere. I have a Hilti hammer drill that wouldn’t work on the 600 watt inverter that came with my work truck but works fine with the 800 watt inverter I connect to the truck battery when running.
oh, and nicely done video. I booped the like fer ya…

  20. tellsitasitis on August 27, 2022 at 3:14 am

I have a Tacoma. This is one of those items I would have never added to a purchase, but when I found out about it, use it all the time. It really comes in handy.

  21. Michel Dickenson on August 27, 2022 at 3:15 am

Lol I got a Nissan ad on your Tacoma video

  22. Kristjan de Vree on August 27, 2022 at 3:15 am

Never works!! Thing is JUNK! just want to run a Noco genius 200 12v battery charger. Won’t do it parked or driving

  23. Ed Shelden on August 27, 2022 at 3:15 am

Well you did not test the drill and the jigsaw under a load. If you’re going to do a test like this you really should get a white meter to connect in between whatever appliance you want to use and the output of the truck. What I’d really like to know is when you plug the toaster in did the RPM of the engine change as the load came up
. I do give you credit for trying

  24. Rbaseball707 on August 27, 2022 at 3:17 am

I confused as an electrician you can only get 3 amps with 400 watts so why didn’t the fuse blow

  25. Michael Greene on August 27, 2022 at 3:18 am

Will it kill the outlet if you are using it without the truck running and the battery starts getting low? Just asking cause I want to use it with the truck off while fishing but want buy truck to start so I can leave.

  26. Bridget Holbert on August 27, 2022 at 3:21 am

I have tried 2 different coffee makers and neither would work . The funny thing is they wouldn’t work after plugging them into the Tacoma outlet. Ruined both of them. Not sure why?

  27. Cady Ledderhof on August 27, 2022 at 3:21 am

Ok but how do you get it to stay on while you are driving? Is this a possibility? As soon as I put my clutch in or am in gear it cute the power to it.

  28. Hunting Tacos on August 27, 2022 at 3:22 am

wish it was stronger. 400 watts is like enough for a drill or a blender lol. you can’t even run a vacuum. nice to have for blue tooth speakers though

  29. Bjorn Decker on August 27, 2022 at 3:22 am

Volts x amps = watts so anything that draws 3.33 amps or less (399.6 watts) is ok.

  30. Bryan R. on August 27, 2022 at 3:24 am

How about a small shop vac ??

  31. Mario Silva on August 27, 2022 at 3:27 am

When the car is in Idle it will do 400 watts when you are driving it’s limited to 100 watts

  32. Melissa on August 27, 2022 at 3:28 am

Ninja air fryers don’t work on it either 😂
If anybody has successfully used an air fryer on the outlet let a girl know 😂😂😂

  33. Robert Gainey on August 27, 2022 at 3:28 am

If you don’t have electric converter in bed before buying Tacoma can you have it installed at dealership before you buy Tacoma, and will it be as capable if installed

  34. King Drazhar on August 27, 2022 at 3:30 am

how long can you run things through that power outlet before it kills the truck’s battery..?

  35. timotheify on August 27, 2022 at 3:32 am

Listen up, I am looking at this to power a small 120v air compressor. If what he says is true about 400v with the engine running should do the job. I don’t need the spheal about waffle irons and crap.

  36. Ryan Butler on August 27, 2022 at 3:33 am

How long can you run power from that outlet with the vehicle being off ? Sorry if this is a ridiculous question.

  37. TED STOVER on August 27, 2022 at 3:34 am

Lost power during Elsa, using mine to run a garage fan, phone charger and stereo…🤘 Beer is a food group!

  38. Kaw on August 27, 2022 at 3:36 am

I got a 2021 SR5 and it did not come equipped with this 🙁 Would it be particularly difficult or expensive to add one?

  39. import's tv on August 27, 2022 at 3:37 am

Wouldnt tjat drained your battery since the engine is not running?

  40. Jeff T Scott on August 27, 2022 at 3:38 am

How can you run the outlet while driving? I was really hoping I could charge my goal zero in my slide in camper in the bed of truck while driving.

  41. Rick Humphrey on August 27, 2022 at 3:40 am

I think it would have been interesting if you had of plugged a powerbar into truck and then saw how many things can be run

  42. Ray Berger on August 27, 2022 at 3:41 am

is the inverter a pure sine wave inverter or is it a a modified wave or square wave inverter ? Anyone ???

  43. Ellie Teasdale on August 27, 2022 at 3:41 am

It’s good for things such as if u have to cut something do a short job pump up a tire what not, but for me we have a camp we go to now and then and I thaught it would be great just to plug it into the truck and run lights and radio instead of using the generator, the problem I see with it is it only works with the key on the on position instead of accessories, which means the headlights and taillights are on all the time as well as interior dash lights radio etc ! Kind of defeats the purpose unless I’m doing something wrong

  44. sajanim on August 27, 2022 at 3:45 am

Good video, but you need a mic to be heard properly

  45. 732NJ XRP on August 27, 2022 at 3:46 am

Dude what what about the battery draining !???

  46. Creedmoor on August 27, 2022 at 3:47 am

Can a freezer or frig work during a power outage?

  47. Carlos Benitez on August 27, 2022 at 3:50 am

How fast will this kill ur battery

  48. Ivan Cespedes on August 27, 2022 at 3:50 am

How much did that compressor require? I’m assumin a 120v miter saw will work with no issue right?

  49. gerry standard on August 27, 2022 at 3:51 am

You forgot #1 requested item….will it run a margarita blender!

  50. Harry Lawrence on August 27, 2022 at 3:52 am

Just saw your video, very informative, only issue is, apparently the bed outlet isn’t available on the ‘18 SR5😢
