BUT wasn’t the 2018 a one year hiccup where Speed Queen tried to make a water efficient machine and they basically admitted it was a screw up and in 2019 they went back to doing the pre 2018 models that had the old high quality results?

  2. Jax Abe on December 2, 2021 at 12:15 pm

Speed Queen needed to hire Eugene to be the consultant at their Department of Product Development, instead of snarling at Eugene for exposing their failure of 2018 re-designing of the product.

I bought a speed Queen washer with agitator in 2019. I wash my face with white wash cloths and get mascara on them. When I washed my white wash cloths they had mascara stains because it did not wash them clean. This year 2020 I bought a GE stack washer and dryer. When I washed my first load of white wash cloths it took the mascara stains out and they were even whiter.

Researching these machines here and am glad for this honest demonstration. I do like what I see with the action inside the tub as it’s hard to tell what’s going on when you go to a store to shop. I will say that if I had a towel stained with ketchup, I would probably treat it separately before putting it in my laundry with something stronger than a tide pod. It’s good that nothing bled over to the rest of the laundry.

  6. Shelley G. on December 2, 2021 at 12:19 pm

Thats crazy, thats a pretty substantial difference between each model. Plus why not a FULL fill. This is what irritates me about washers. Also do both of those models not have the lid lock? Thats another thing I hate about the newer washers.

  7. MMM857 on December 2, 2021 at 12:19 pm

Had you used bleach, the stain would of been removed much better.

  8. lib gunner on December 2, 2021 at 12:20 pm

My speed queen works great ….!

  9. Ima Talkin on December 2, 2021 at 12:21 pm

Is the older model now called the classic?

  10. Saul Garay on December 2, 2021 at 12:22 pm

Great informational video, i haven’t done enough research to see that there is a difference in production years. Now, to try and get my hands on a 2017 model.

  11. Amanda Collins on December 2, 2021 at 12:23 pm

We can thank Obama for making Obama care control our ability to clean our clothes properly. Let’s have someone who actually cleans clothes decide this. New washers and dryers adhere to his pre-determined limits which is why none of them work anymore. It’s not Energy saving when you have to wash multiple times.

  12. Michael on December 2, 2021 at 12:26 pm

Can u do the same test with the TC500?

  13. george a on December 2, 2021 at 12:27 pm

    Is the 2020 models better

  14. ll on December 2, 2021 at 12:29 pm

I purchased speed queen washer and dryer and they’re amazing. The best I’ve ever had

  15. UncleSam13 on December 2, 2021 at 12:30 pm

So one is a TR7 the other is a TC5 so which is which?

  16. OneDayAfterAnother on December 2, 2021 at 12:30 pm

they brought back to old model?

  18. 707SonomaComa on December 2, 2021 at 12:33 pm

Would I be better off keeping my 20 or maybe 30+ year old Kenmore with a corkscrew agitator? It still works but the matching dryer is getting a little noisy.
Getting the 30 foot dryer vent cleaned ’cause it’s taking a while to dry. Is the old school NOT energy efficient better at cleaning?

  19. SuzyQ_LasVegas on December 2, 2021 at 12:35 pm

Thank you for this video. I absolutely love SpeedQueen and now I know which one not to buy. My last Speedqueen lasted 18 years with no service call. I gave it away when I moved

  20. Angie Lococo on December 2, 2021 at 12:36 pm

I never understand why a manufacturer changes a good product to something subpar. Frustrating. What is the best cleaning machine?

  21. La Tui on December 2, 2021 at 12:37 pm

FYI Speed Queen FL washers *do not* contain internal water heaters. These completely reply on the houses hot water heater, which will *NEVER* be able to supply 120 F wash water because of the typical distance from the washer. This corner cutting essentially ensures every wash you do will be lukewarm at best. I will never buy from a brand that cuts corners like that.

  22. Angela Segiel on December 2, 2021 at 12:37 pm

If you are in need of a new washing machine, stay
    away from SPEEDQUEEN.

We bought ours on 08/14/2020 from Orvilles. Delivered on 08/21/2020, 2 weeks later.

Called Orvilles for service 2 weeks later. They sent me to a sister company called Nab & Mohring. They were here twice. More than 2 weeks apart. Buying time. First guy took photos and said there was a weird film of greasy stuff on the water. Waited 3 weeks to get the second appointment which, once again was 2 weeks later. 5 total here. I then threatened with CALL 4 ACTION to the company. They called Nab and Mohring and they sent someone out the second time.

Called Orvilles and spoke to the sales rep. I was told that they just don’t replace machines, so, I had to wait another 2 weeks. BUYING TIME. They sent someone out on January 18th. This guy told me it isn’t me it is the washer. He stated ‘If I had called within a month, they may have replaced it”. Well dumb ass, I did. Now I will tell anyone that would listen.

I am tired of washing the machine before I can wash my clothes. Who is got to accommodate me for all the extra water, gas and electricity? I wash my clothes with TIDE, use vinegar as a fabric softener and use SHOUT on stains. I believe it is a hot water problem. The soap is not melting. I have had it. See photos. DISCUSSING.

  23. Grace on December 2, 2021 at 12:38 pm

Do the SQ front loading machines have the mold issues? Thank you

  24. Patrick Faiola on December 2, 2021 at 12:39 pm

You should, have tested the water temperature with a heat gauge on first warm fill since a warm fill mixes cold with hot and that may throw throw your findings off. You should of done a hot water test with the cold water inlets completely closed. This is a flawed video that you did not go far enough with. Hopefully the towels were from the same manufacturing batch since fibers vary. My 2015 speed queen warm water mode was not that warm. Were the actual agitation times the same.. I may be wrong on my opinion but go a little deeper next time.

  25. R Ge on December 2, 2021 at 12:40 pm

Thank you for for this video.
Couple of things, first I personally would pretreat towels with shout or spray & wash. Next use Iiquid tide higher dose, pods don’t work well on stains due to the fact they have to break down first. I use hot water for towels as it cleans them better.

  26. msbutterfly714 on December 2, 2021 at 12:41 pm

I dont know, most people I know pretreat stains. I never seen someone just throw it in with soap and think its going to come clean?? (shaking my head) people pretreat for armpit stains, blood stains, grease stains, etc. I know you just want to show the "difference" but Speed Queen makes incredible washers & dryers. Plus this is an old video.

  27. DeadlyVenomKing on December 2, 2021 at 12:43 pm

    Any Heavy stain clothes
Wash alone on low level and hot water some bleach. Works for me

  28. Oliver Allen on December 2, 2021 at 12:43 pm

Evidently people like the 2021+ TR7s.

  29. Mandy on December 2, 2021 at 12:44 pm

Does the TR3 fall into the 2018 series?! I guess speed queen is on backorder big time for the TC5. If I buy 1 online from out of state is the warranty process different vs buying local? I don’t know if they’ve "updated" the tc3? Only other option I’d commercial Maytag or used old school washer lol.

  30. Three Sons on December 2, 2021 at 12:44 pm

So if not speed queen which washer should I get? Very confused

  31. safffff1000 on December 2, 2021 at 12:47 pm

Better yet is to test it against a 20 yr old one

  32. Steven Holt on December 2, 2021 at 12:49 pm

I’m late to this game, but thank you for this video. It would be very interesting to see a comparison between the ’17 SQ and the 70 year old Fridgadaire that u posted last year. Also, this would be a hard test for any washer, pre – treatment would be essential for a stain this difficult. I mean, is there ANY washer that would completely remove this stain w/o pre – treatment?

  33. Lori Fram on December 2, 2021 at 12:49 pm

For stain removal use oxy clean, and seriously hot water.

  34. Simplicio Camirino on December 2, 2021 at 12:49 pm

Thank you for that sharing sir.

  36. Mark Holtdorf on December 2, 2021 at 12:53 pm

  37. Adam Goldberg on December 2, 2021 at 12:54 pm

People like you are what got them to bring back the older model thank you

  38. Adam Fitriosa channel on December 2, 2021 at 12:54 pm

    Does maytag cleanse the stain?

  39. Kenji on December 2, 2021 at 12:54 pm

Who’s going to have laundry soiled with that much ketchup or anything else?

  40. Jean Cortez on December 2, 2021 at 12:56 pm

I bought a speed queen washer last yr – it is the most horrible machine — the lid lock broke within a yr – the soft water dispenser sucks – it does not blend – my expensive shirts came out with large blue spots – I called the customer service – their advise dilute fabric softener with water – it diluted the softer and the clothes came out rough – be careful – it is a horrible horrible machine – – how would you like to wash a towel and it still came out orange with kepsup.

  41. billy lee on December 2, 2021 at 12:56 pm

We just got the latest version of the tr5 and it is absolutely the best washing machine my wife and I have owned in our 25 years of marriage. We only use normal mode for delicates. The permanent press and heavy duty modes absolutely clean. I’m a mechanic so we know dirty.

  42. Stephanie Pagan on December 2, 2021 at 12:58 pm

Which one was the 2017 and which one was the 2018?

  43. McCardie Clan on December 2, 2021 at 12:59 pm

Which model did you use, the TC5 ?? Would love to see you do this with the SS7 front load washer!!

  44. abntiffie2005 on December 2, 2021 at 12:59 pm

Do you happen to have a side by side with the same test with the new 2021 model of the TR7? I just want to make sure i didn’t drop 3k one a subpar set! (still awaiting delivery of my set.)

  45. Stu Nod on December 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm

Whelp my 24 year old Whirlpool died in 2021 so I had to be a 2021 TR7003 model. Hope it works!

  46. Nikodadon on December 2, 2021 at 1:01 pm

Is this what you called commercial man I am getting a maytag washer

  47. Barbara Mazzocca on December 2, 2021 at 1:03 pm

I have a 2015 Speed queen that rips and tears cloths, sheets, towels, blankets. I’ve had to spend a lot of money trying to replace these things. Do yourself a favor and never get one.
How are you watching it was? Mine stops the second I lift the lid.

  48. Curtis on December 2, 2021 at 1:03 pm

If you want the stains to come out then wash the towels in hot water. Also, Speed Queen needs to go back to the corkscrew or spiral agitator. I don’t think it’s harsh on clothes as some reviews have suggested. I think it is the key to having clean clothes.

  49. Rich Perry on December 2, 2021 at 1:05 pm

    Holy macaroni….this is pretty awesome.
    Its 2020…what do I buy??
    Please help.
    Best review ever.

  50. Daniel Woods on December 2, 2021 at 1:05 pm

They should have NEVER tried to alter the good old classic flex vane agitation…
