I don’t believe it!!!, they shriek bc a seagull landed near them…Thumbs up and thumbs down – Roman Auditorium stuff where distasteful and horrific content is shown before the gawping virtual audience for their entertainment….we are regressing at a rate of knots as a species, but Big Business needs those buckaroos, so darn the consequences!!!! PUH THETIC!!!

I mainly use my cell phone for internet during down time or when I am waiting. You can use it all you want/need, just take a break from it and know when to put it down from time to time. The cellphone is a tool, don’t limit it’s use to a certain time. Rather use it responsibly, and stay away from social media sites like Facebook that literally dumbs down the individual, by making them get stressed over mienut bullsh*t such as likes/dislikes and other minor unimportant details of other people’s lives for the most part( there are some exceptions).

You were making a lot of sense until you used the "Slot machine" analogy. It’s absolutely nothing to do with that. That’s a ridiculous comparison no matter who originally said it. There are so many people addicted to their phones who have never even seen a slot machine much less have ever used one. You just went too far. I believe a lot of what you presented. But frankly. Several things you said sound more like ridiculous conspiracy theories bullshit.

1/29/21: Thank you for this very important and concerning info. It should be bullhorned to the world … now more than ever, especially those with children or who work with children. People losing their human-ness.

I once researched, "Who made the TV set?", and found it was a accumulation of inventions, and when somebody figured out the "channel selector", the TV was produced. The guy who invented the "Picture Tube", later, knowing how the state could use it to control minds, (according to the article i read), did not let his kids watch TV, and may not have had one in their home. How could you say that man was not smart?
There is everything right about our free market advancing technology. But it is a crime to use it in a criminal manor, against our liberty. Again, I see no Justice.

I don’t use social media. Life is great. Try it. Delete all of your social media accounts permanently. The rewards are 100% better then you no.

I came off my phone for a week but had to come back on for online lessons and I’ve never felt more suicidal in my life. It was lingering in my mind for a few weeks and it pops in and out every now and then but I can’t leave because I need it for my future.

I’ve deleted my social media account from my phone. The only time I access the web is on my PC at home. If you really want to get into the Nitty-gritty of how social media affects your cognitive functions, read Jaron Lanier’s "10 arguments…" book. It was eye-opening.

I cancelled my facebook account over ten years ago. It was probably the smartest thing I have ever done. I couldn’t understand why people were so angry when you disagreed with them. I even lost some of my real "friends" due to wrongthink, but that is a whole ‘nother story. I feel sorry for people trying to have a conversation now. I tell everyone that the best thing they can do in their lives is to not use social media AT ALL. I work at a college and NOBODY TALKS ANYMORE. I used to walk into the classroom and I would have to tell everyone to stop talking and settle down. Now I beg for someone to talk. It’s like a morgue. I just laugh and shake my head now when I walk in. Typical workday (before Covid) Park my car and walk past all the students walking around looking at their cellphone. Go into the building and walk past all the students staring at their cellphone and not talking. Go into my classroom, laugh and shake my head because all the students are staring at their cellphones and not talking. It has really become depressing to see.

2 year old vid, still good today. He nailed it at the end, "the rejection of reality" by being immersed in a cell phone. Reality has a way of kicking our butts when we ignore it, or try to replace it.
